Lactation consultant
Could someone recommend a lactation consultant that does home visits? I'm in the Baldwin Oceanside area. I prefer someone to come to the house. I know I can go to the hospital it I would like for someone to come to me. If you have someone great that does only in office visits please pass along that info as well.

Re: Lactation consultant
Dr. Lauren Macaluso - she's also a pediatrician. She doesn't make house-calls (that I know of), but does have an office.

Lactation consultant
Jeanne Dejak..She lives in East Rockaway, does home visits, and is the reason I am still BFing at almost 8 months. If you want her number feel free to send me FM.
You can also call South Nassau! They can provide you with a list of recommended LCs. That is how I found Jeanne.

I used her as well. I found her through Breath n Flow yoga in Freeport. She taught a breastfeeding class there that I took while pregnant. I called her up when I was having trouble breastfeeding when my DS was 2 weeks. I ultimately never got my supply up enough to exclusively BF but she did help me get DS to have a better latch.

She is amazing!! I was hesistant bc she doesn't make housecalls but I am forever glad I went to see her!!!
I struggled to nurse DS2 and after an LC came to my home and DS2's tongue tie was clipped, we were still struggling. I pumped exclusively for 1 month but was getting ready to give up bc I just couldn't get DS2 to nurse.
I saw Dr. Macaluso and she got my DS to latch! From that session with her I stopped feeding him pumped milk and exclusively nursed for 2 years!!! She seriously made all the difference.

Re: Lactation consultant
I went through my insurance company. They recommended someone who would be certified with minimal out of pocket cost. I used Maria Fisher. She is a midwife and Lactation Consultant. I thought she was great.
