I like when kitchen islands are totally clear, how about hanging nice pendant lamps above the island so it doesnt look bare?

except now, I have a decorative bowl with some fruit in it I also have a runner on the island now

if you dont have hi-hats directly above the island, it could still work.
I really like the cookbook stand someone posted and hanging nice pots above the island is nice too - I forgot about that!

My MIL has her cooktop on her island.
She has a decorative stand for mugs and a plant on the other side.
