i really feel bad for those people - thats a horrible job.
Unfortunatley for me, since I have wavy hair all the hair straitening people try to stop me EVERY time. So annoying
I have pin straight hair naturally and the flat iron guy comes up and asks to demonstrate the product. I indicated that I have straightr hair already and he said, "Ooohh, realllyyy?"
Like I was lying when I am standing there with straight hai, idiot

I actually enjoy talking to them b/c I formulate skin care products...I like playing dumb and asking questions to see what bullsh*t answer they come up with.
I used to do that too (I worked as a technician in a dermatology laboratory.... we did wound healing research). I love when they talk about collagen keeping skin resiliant and stretchy.... uh, yeah, it does... but collagen can't absorb through skin so your product is useless!..) but I digress

Re: Kiosk salespeople at the mall
I hate those people. I am usually polite but yesterday while DD has having a raging tantrum in her stroller I was approached my one of those modeling agencies...He started with, "I'm sorry to bother you but..." and I just looked at him, and was like, I"m sorry, but you totally are bothering me!!" I wanted to be like, can't you see my kid is screaming bloody murder?? 1. why would you attempt to talk to me when she's in that state and 2. do you really think a screaming kid is model material??

That's what I'm saying.. they have no discretion
Those modeling people are terrible. The same day as the "incident" with this guy the modeling girl asked me.. I said "no thank you.." in my usual fashion.. then I passed her again and she asked me if I changed my mind
They crack me up though. Before I was preg they would stop and ask me if I wanted to be a model. Obviously I always said no.. but this one girl must have been pretty desperate because about 8 months pregnant I'm sweating, no makeup, wearing DS's walmart sweatpants with a neon pink wifebeater.. basically looking like a total beast..(not "glowing" whatsoever at this point.. just yucky looking) she tried to stop me.. I just looked at her and was like "you have GOT to be kidding me!"

Re: Kiosk salespeople at the mall
I've never done this, but I wonder what would happen if you went crazy over the product, but said "I have absolutely no money, but I LOVE it! Can I have one PLEASE!!!!"
If they can have a set and be pushy with us, why can't we give it back? I wonder what they'd do.

Re: Kiosk salespeople at the mall
I was going to ask you if that was at the Walt Whitman Mall. The guy there asked my 3 year old almost the same question, "why doesn't your sister want to talk to me". Clearly I am not his sister, I am 40 years old! For the record, I had politely answered "no" when he asked if he could ask me a question. Everytime they ask if they can ask me a question I feel like responding "you just did" - but I don't want to be rude.

I pretend to be on my cell phone if I am alone...
I cant stand the model people. Last time they asked for the 725482528 time if I wanted to put my daughter in ads, I said, "why Im not good looking enough?". The kid laughed and I kept walking...

They try to stop me when I walk past them at Roosevelt Field...the modelling people for kids. When they don't take no for an answer, I tell them: I don't need you to tell me my kids are cute.

Since my husband knows sign language he usually starts signing to me. The people that work at the kiosks don't know what to do with that one, so they back off.

Wow.... PLEASE fill out a complaint form or call the mall's management office! That guy is probabl breaking his lease and the mall manager should know about it. I work for a mall and our tenants are not allowed to call out to you or approach you unless you verbally acknowledge interest or approach their kiosk first. If you are just walking by, they aren't supposed to call out to you and getting in your son's face is harassment!!!
Whatever mall it was probably has rules like this too (or maybe it was my mall!). I urge you to report it!
Oh my god.. it was Smithhaven Mall.. and if they're not supposed to approach you then almost every single kiosk person in that mall is breaking the rules, with the excpeption of maybe the jewelry and sunglasses people.
Yup, Smithhaven is THE WORST with the kiosk salespeople! If I was interested I'd walk up to you! You don't see all the stores in the mall I walk past and don't go into standing at their doors asking me to come in or asking for a minute of my time to show me what's in their stores! If we're interested in your product...we'll find you!

Re: Kiosk salespeople at the mall
When those stupid skin products people get in my face, I say that their product is really ****** and to leave me the F alone.
Being polite? Tried it, it doesn't work with some sales people.

Re: Kiosk salespeople at the mall
I have to add...this is such a sore spot for me. For Christmas my DH bought me one of these spa gifts from the kiosk person and he was so proud of himself. I felt bad but there was hardly anything in it, a tiny cream, a buffer and a nail file but didnt say anything to him. When I saw his cc smt I was so I say to him what the heck did she say to you that you bought something so expensive and there was nothing in it!!! He said she massaged his hand and she flirted with him and he totally fell for it and when he went back to the mall to get me something else he realized she was doing it to all the men.
