Kids 4 or 5 yrs apart?
Pros to this? I was hoping to have them a bit closer but I don't think its going to happen (b/c of careers, $, sanity )
And what about having a third, meaning having the first and third maybe 7 years apart? I feel like its not "typical" but it might be what works for us. I guess I'm just wondering if there's any real cons with this decision.
TIA!

Re: Kids 4 or 5 yrs apart?
my sister and I are 4 years apart and the best of friends- best bonus is that we were not in college at the same time- which made it easier for my parents to help us out

Re: Kids 4 or 5 yrs apart?
My girls are 7 years and 3 months apart. This is certainly not how we planned it. We had difficulty getting pregnant and a really hard time staying pregnant(we had 4 m/c's). I was really worried about the age gap but I gotta tell you that it is really awesome in so many ways. DD#1 is a huge help(and she wants to do it) I never require her to help because it is not her job and I do not want her to resent her little sis. They play together A LOT, which I was suprised about. DD#1 is old enough to understand and appreciate how lucky we are to be blessed with DD#2. It really is wonderful.

Re: Kids 4 or 5 yrs apart?
Mine are 4 years apart and I think it's a great spacing! My DD is very independent at 4 and is a HUGE help with Chase and she loves to interact with him and play with him. I always joke that she's his favorite person in the world Honestly, I always thought I'd want them closer together, but honestly, this is so much better than I thought it would be. Only one in diapers, one to feed, our sleep isn't too disturbed. It's great!

Re: Kids 4 or 5 yrs apart?
If siblings are going to bond it's going to happen no matter the age gap. I know families where kids never bonded and are not close to this day and it had nothing to do with the age difference. 4 years is not a big gap imo.
My 1st and my 2nd are 7 1/2 years apart and my 2nd and 3rd are 10 months apart so I went from one extreme to the next.
My 7 year old wanted a sibling and even asked for one when she was 3 1/2. She waited what seemed liked forever to her so when that day came she became the worlds best sister. She lives for her sisters. They are her everything and there is nothing she wouldn't do for them.
