Kate Gosselin: I'm Mom First, Spank You Very Much

Kate Gosselin should prepare for a spanking for the spanking.

Today's cover of In Touch Weekly shows the reality television mother disciplining daughter Leah, one of her 5-year-old sextuplets.

According to the magazine, mom and the kids were playing outside when Leah started blowing a whistle loudly. Mom asked her to stop because she was on the phone. When she continued, Kate approached the child and said, "Did you not hear me?" Then, per the magazine, whack.

Meanwhile, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star released a statement to Life & Style (In Touch's sister publication, natch).

"Whether the paparazzi are there or not, I am a mother first," she says. "I love my children and when they misbehave, I discipline them as I deem appropriate for the situation."

The tabloid-friendly family's every move has been under the microscope amid allegations their marriage was falling apart.

For their 10th anniversary weekend, Kate Gosselin stayed home with the kids, while Jon was MIA from their Pennsylvania manse, spending at least part of the weekend in a suburb of New York City, sources tell E! News.

i think it worse that they printed the picture since you can see the little girl in her underwear, i m actually way more upset about that then kate spanking her

i am so, so sick of people making her out to be a monster. i would love for someone to follow me around with a camera all day. i am sure they would be calling CPS.

the fact that a 5 year old getting a slap on her bottom for not listening to her mother is news worthy of the front cover of a magazine is whats disturbing to me.

edited to add that i think this is probably the same day she called the police on the paparazzi cause they seem to be reallly close

Please i dont feel sorry for her because I know she probably likes all publicity she gets. She is the single version of Speidi.

I also dont think the spankin was a big deal but I still stand by she is such a phony bologna now... just look at first season compared to her fakeness now and I used to love this family and liked her
