Just read this in "Parents" about dental X-rays and thought I'd share
It's in an old issue of "Parents" magazine (from this summer) I just found.
I don't have the link or anything so I'm just going ton post what it says in short:
"dental X-rays pose a greater risk than previously thought. Some X-ray machines emit 4 times more radiation than earlier estimated...... But don't cancel your appt just yet. Instead ask your dentist (and your child's) if he uses digital technology or newer E- or F- speed film, NOT D speed, and rectangular collimation instead of round, which reduce radiation without sacrificing quality of imaging......
If yours doesn't consider switching dentists."

Study outhor is John Ludlow, D.D.S. professor of diagnostic sciences at the university of N. Carolina School of dentistry. in Chapell Hill.

I know my dentist uses only digital xrays and they are even safe for pregnant women.

We use digital in our office and most modern offices are as well

well, I just wanted to post and let other moms know in case they didn't know , just like I didn't know before I read the article. It's an interesting information and just wanted to share.

I just wanted to put my $.02 in that if it's a current office they should be digital by now  Nothing wrong with what you posted at all

Mine as well. In fact, most offices I have worked in in the past 10 years are digital.

Thanks for sharing! My mom has always been adamant that we not get dental x-rays too often - i think she would only let it happen every 2 years. Lo and behold she was right, as always LOL.
