just got a call from the embryologist about the remaining eggs
....none made it to freeze 
That cant be normal right?

How many did you have left on day 3? only about half make it to day 5 and freeze and than some don't meet the quality requirements they have to freeze.
ETS: I think it was KrisT who had a Day 3 transfer, had no embryos left to freeze but it worked and she's pregnant!

8 fertilized total and they put two 8 celled embies back. My RE and the Embryologist said the 2 they put back were perfect. So I guess they were watching the other six....2 of which they though might have made it to blast but none did.

I know how upsetting that can be because it happened to me on my first IVF, but I ended up getting a BFP anyway ( it was a chemical as you know but that had nothing to do with the remaining embryos that didnt make it to freeze) ....Lets just  that those 2 embies were the only ones you needed- remember they always put the best back first !!! ...Try to stay positive !!!!

You have the best of the best burrowing into that uterus of yours! I know a woman that had no embryos to freeze, but had 2 fresh transfered and got pg with twins!! It can happen!!

Yes - it was me  It's hard not to think about it, but try to focus on quality and not quanitity! And like they say, it really only takes one. I this works for you and have a good feeling!!!!!

my first ivf also had none to freeze which still confuses me they fertilized 16 eggs and implanted 4 how did none of the others make it to freeze??? and the dr said they all looked good,
and that was a bfn

Here were my numbers:
16 eggs at ER
12 were mature
10 fertilized
6 made it to day 5
They put back 2
3 made it to freeze.
I started with 16 and ended up with 3 to freeze.
It only takes one. I'm living proof! Try not to get too down. The best eggs are in your basket. Be positive for them!

Just because none made it to freeze doesn't mean anything about the ones they put back. They were the best ones of the group and you have a very good chance of this working. Though it would have been nice to have some on ice, of course. Especially for a #2...
Good luck...when is your beta? Does Dr. B still continue to do the two beta's, where he doesn't tel you the results of the 1st?

My daughter had only 7 at retrieval 2 didnt make it right away Dr. B. transfered 3 at day three. She is now 8 weeks pregnant with twins!!! none that were left were good enough to freeze!!! You still have a good chance anyway.

I had 27 at ER and only wound up with 3 to freeze Lisa  ( and the one they put back is Alexa today!)

This is what happend to me Lee, exactly.. If you do a search you can see my post back in sept 08.. I had no eggs left either.. Viviana is my result of that IVF... she is all I need.. Please please please focus on those two gorgeous emryos that have been put back and are implanting as I type this..

Hi Lisa, Sorry to hear none of your embies were able to be frozen either. I don't think that is abnormal because like my RE's office said if they don't think they will make it to thaw then they won't freeze them. I have a good feeling that our IVF's will be successful!!! Try to stay positive

Don't worry Lisa, this EXACTLY what happened to me as well. I had 9 retrieved, 7 were mature, 5 fertilized....Dr. B put back the best two (one 8 cell grgade one and the other a 7 cell grade two) the other three never made it to freeze but I am now almost 14 weeks pregnant. It only takes one!!!! I am praying for you!
