Oh I'm sure people judge me.

I only care about what the people in my immediate circle think about me though. Moreso because I value their opinions. However, there are some aspects about me that I wont change, and if they don't like it and judge me for it, then that's their problem.

Same here. I know people judge me. But I really couldn't care less if they do. As long as my closest friends and family love me for who I am, I couldn't give a second thought to what others think of me. I refuse to change who I am just to please other people.

I'm sure people pass judgment on me, and kudos to them for having me on their mind.

I learned not to give a rat's @ss a looooooong time ago!

I think that one on the benefits (for me) of getting older is that I don't care as much what other people think. As long as my family is happy & I have great friends things are good. Chat Icon

Yup, I think I am judged a bit. I'm kind of shy and quiet, and I don't smile a lot (just not in my nature Chat Icon) so I think some people automatically assume I'm a stuck up b!tch when I'm really pretty nice.

This is me exactly! I am not a big smiler so people think I am a b!tch bc i always have a b!tch face on, once you approach me and talk to me I am nice!

Re: Judgements on You

People have said judgmental things to me about my DS being in daycare while I work and my DH is home (he's been laid off for almost 2 years). My DH and I have discussed it and he is not the full time SAHD type. We recently cut it back to part-time though since DS is more active now and DH has a lot of fun hanging out with him. But it works for us and I don't think it's anyone's business if that's what we want to do. But of course I get the comments...

Same here. One of the guys I work with said I seemed "unapproachable" because I always looked so serious. But I really am nice...I just look funny if I smile all the time Chat Icon Chat Icon

I don't think so much about me but I think about other people when I run to the mall on my lunch break. Who are these people that are always shopping on a Tuesday? Where do they get their money from?

Re: Judgements on You

People assume that since I have twins that I am done having kids.

When I tell people that I work they are sometimes horrified because I have two kids....it's weird.

People also assume that I am a real beoch which I can be but not all the time. When I walk around I am in constant thougt and sometimes people take that as standoffish but I am just really deep in thought thinking about work or whatever else I have to do.

And i'm the opposite, i'm the social butterfly at work, always smiling and being friendly. I think i'm judged as being a phony and someone not to trust because of it, but i'm really genuinely being nice. People are just suspicious of it.

I don't really care what people think of me.. but sometimes I find myself caring lately. Especially now being all big and preggo.. if I run out of the house without my rings on I feel like people are staring & judging me.

yeah, i'll admit...... when my son turned 17 months(and 2 months of weight watchers) my rings now fit....... I was close to going to the store to get a fake ring......I didn't want people to judge me for something that wasn't true.

I'll admit sometimes I'll run to the mall on my lunch hour, I;ll take a big shopping cart and fill it up.... then i see the mothers their with their kids and kinda feel jealous I don't get to be a SAHM...... but then I remember, there are vacation days I take where I bring ds shopping with me, so maybe they aren't really SAHM

I am a securities attorney for a large company. However, even though I am in my early 30's I look really young plus I am petite-cutesy type of person. I worry that other co-workers or counterparties will not take me seriously or think that I am ditzy or something.

I know I am judged all the time. I'm happy and try the best I can to be a good person, so there's not really anything I can do to change the judgements.

Re: Judgements on You

I find that MANY people think that because I work in an independent, private school that it's because I'm not a good teacher or I cannot get a job in a public school. I hear that allllll the time about private school teachers. And honestly, unless you know anything about independent schools (not catholic school), you really can't judge. Independent school teachers (for the most part, of course I cannot speak for all) believe in an independent school education and the philosophy and mission of their school. We teach in these schools because we believe we can better educate students in this setting. That's a huge judgement I deal with on a regular basis and it irritates me.
