weren't all the gossip sites saying that they moved to NC? Glad to see they stayed in PA. I like seeing all the unique things they do with their kids so close to NYC.

It had been said by a few sources that TLC did pay for a new house for them to be built and that it was some place in NC. Guess we know the "built for them" and "in NC" parts are not true!

I agree..... I don't think it started out as a money thing, but with the success of the show, and how it stated as a 1 episode thing to a seris they SHOULD get be compinsated. Without this they wouldn't beable to afford the trips or luxuries they have. I don't think it's a problem. It's no different then anybody else.

I agree, I think it's probably the only way their family can make enough money to stay afloat and I am sure the kids actually like spending time with Jon too. I dont remember if it was in the book or on the show, but they gave their kids a choice of doing a "family" job or having daddy to go work everyday. They chose the family job. These kids are getting to experience so much more because of TLC.
Reading the book has made me very sympathetic to everything they have gone through. We shouldn't be so quick to judge - its not like any of us have had 8 kids in 3 years.

I agree completely. They are doing what any parent would do for there children which is give them more than they had growing up and make sure they are taken cared for.
oppurtunity only knocks once, they took it and its working out for them.
I hope whatever money they are making they setup some kind of trust fund for the kids since the show won't always been around, as much as I would love to see them grow up into adulthood!

I just don't think its healthy to have cameras in their faces 24/7 for months at a time. Those kids don't have a normal childhood. They were more than making it on Jon's salary. Now they make around 60k per episode. You really think they'd stop, even if the kids didn't want it anymore?

I agree. I can't imagine that it's easy to support 9 kids. Any way they can make money is fine in my eyes!

I don't really have a problem with them. She's a great mother. A little neurotic, yes. But those kids are very well taken care of. She does a much better job with 8 kids than I do with just 1. I enjoy the show. I don't think the intention was to sell her kids out.
