Johnsons Baby Shampoo
I've always thought I'd wash my baby with johnsons...now I'm reading that it contains a chemical that causes cancer. (along with aveeno, bc they are the same company). now i don't know what to wash my baby with. Should I ignore it? Afterall, everything these days cause cancer. Or use something else?

Johnsons Baby Shampoo
Our pediatrician told us not to even use it yet (because many babies have reactions to it. We have been using Dove for sensitive skin (bar soap).

Re: Johnsons Baby Shampoo
We registered for California Baby products and Burt's Bees for this reason.
I try to use more natural products, on myself as well.
For all I know there is some other harmful chemical in these, but it makes me feel better not to use Johnson's which I know has something bad in it.
Make sure you get something fragrance free. You can't use any soaps at first and the first kind they recommend you start using are fragrance free. We are using the California Super Sensitive lotion now as DD has dry skin.

Johnsons Baby Shampoo
I use it. It has been around forever and if babies were getting cancer it would have been off the shelves long ago.
I don't buy into all the hype.

Re: Johnsons Baby Shampoo
We switched to California baby because the Johnson's chemical thing was bothering me. It is expensive, but the bottle lasts a LONG time.

Ditto occasionally I will use the aveeno bc although is the same company as Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo the aveeno is only a 3 on that skin deep website meanwhile if I remember right the Johnson and Johnson was like a 7 or something like that

This.
Honestly, it seems like EVERY day there is some report about some product (shampoo, soap, cleaning product, food, toy, clothing, etc. etc. ) all of a sudden being bad for you that it starts to feel like NOTHING is safe anymore.
I think people have gone a little crazy these days with the all natural, all organic, no dyes, blah blah blah thing. I think A LOT of it is media hype to freak people out so they run to the store and spend three times as much $$$ on some "safe", organic product...........only to find out that half the times that's no better either.

Re: Johnsons Baby Shampoo
We use Dolphin Organics. DS has very sensitive skin and this doesn't irritate it. We've tried all sort of natural versions of the popular brands but they didn't help. Obviously I'll be using the same on the new baby. A bottle lasts a long time so it's worth it.

Same here... I actually like the babies r us brand. It smells good really good, is normally on sale and works great!
My son was allergic to the johnson and johnson when he was first born. We used alveno and a different brand that was very expensive.

Totally agree and I buy the target brand at $2 and change a pop for a big container vs. $10 and up for butts bees or whatever...

Re: Johnsons Baby Shampoo
My ped recommended Aquafor Baby Wash It has no smell at all, no color at all Very gentle
But I'd use Johnson's too- I mean they would have to be EATING it by the quart for it to cause cancer IMO I think it's a bit overboard lately
