Jericho Diner closed down - what happened??
DH and I drove past tonight and it was dark... we stopped to read the sign in the window and it said that as of 3 pm on March 13th they were closing their doors. We ate breakfast there every Sunday morning since we've moved here... we ate there last Sunday, no one said a word... said see you next weekend...
Does anyone know why they closed? What's a good recommendation for a new diner in the Mineola area? That was our place... sad :( I need someplace to go and read the paper Sunday

The Omega diner on Lakeville and Hillside is good. Yesterday's Diner on Jericho Tpke just a block or two west of Lakeville is also good.

I always go to the Carle Place Diner on the corner of Glen Cove Rd and Old Country Rd.

The diner on long beach road in Oceanside closed down also - The East BAy Diner....and I heard they already they knocked it down....Supposedly A CVS is going there

I heard they are opening at the old Sparta diner. Just do not see the need to put a CVS up when Walgreens is directly across the street.

exactly! esp when walgreens is cheap compared to CVS!!! the CVS near GCR is never busy, and sooooo over priced!! jericho diner was really good, i will miss it

We like this diner a lot! Just went there last Friday.
There is also the NHP diner on Hillside. 5 minutes from the Omega.

I feel your pain...the Plaza Diner in Plainview closed a few weeks ago and they are knocking it down to put up a Walgreens!

I feel your pain...the Plaza Diner in Plainview closed a few weeks ago and they are knocking it down to put up a Walgreens!
what gives with all the Walgreens and other drug stores popping up all over the place lately?   do we really have that big of a drug store shortage?

Oh yeah I saw they closed that....I figured it would be either a walgreens, a commerce bank or a storage facility

Do we really need these drugstores?? Especially with all the Targets, Walmarts, etc.... this is sad. Diners are a very Long Island thing and it's sad to see that they're disappearing...

Wow- we live around the corner from the Jericho diner and I had no idea they were closing. My husband and I actually prefer the Williston Townhouse on Hillside anyway.
