JCrew...not impressed
Am I the only one who is not impressed with JCrew anymore? I went there today and saw ONE shirt that I liked. And I refused to pay 50 bucks since it was basically a T-Shirt.
I used to have soooooo many JCrew clothes. Now, I can't find anything I like. Even if it's a STEAL on the sales rack

umm yea - they've gotten out of control with their prices. and the quality is not worth the price, IMO.

And their sizes are so HUGE that nothing fits me there anymore!
I always fit into one size there and now it's swimming on me! Plus, not many of their stores carry petites!
Definitely not impressed lately either!

I never buy anything there full price.
I do think it's a better quality clothing, but their prices have skyrocketed. I remember when my friend bought a pair of espadrille sandals for $70 ten years ago, and now the same style of sandal is $120!

I agree - their prices are out of control. There are a lot of pieces I like, but I am NOT spending that much on them.
I do hit the outlet sometimes and have a few pieces from there.
I used to shop in there all the time in high school and college. They were a little pricier, but still affordable back then. I just don't know what happened to them.

I used to shop at the outlet store years ago. I remember hitting the clearance section and walking out with a huge bag for under $200. one time my sister and I bought like 6 or 7 pairs of pants each, for about $20-30 a pop. I don't even have them anymore. they didn't last that long. so IMO, they weren't worth more than what I paid.
meanwhile... I have dress pants by I.N.C. (Macy's), they last forever! I don't mind paying full price for something that actually lasts! I think I have 1 pair from 7 or 8 years ago!

I am currently FURIOUS with J. Crew. I ordered a bathing suit two weeks ago and they only sent the top. Then I called and was placed on hold for 45 minutes (my entire ride home.) Then she wanted to place me on hold again. I checked online and it said that the order for the bottom was still open. Not to mention the fact that the top came with a final sale sticker on it--even though it was not final sale and cost 55 freakin dollars!!!

i don't think i was every impressed with JCrew. They stuff is like a golfer on acid IMO. Wouldn't wear their clothes BUT...LOVE their flip flops..

OMG I have had the same experience witht them and have been exchanging nasty emails for weeks. THREE weeks ago I ordered about 9 items - only 6 have come. They all came two weeks late - all shipped separately - all with the same stickers you said. I have paid for all the merchandise though  They keep giving me all this "website upgrade" nonsense but I ordered stuff BEFORE they even mentioned this - AND - I paid for shipping  I will NEVER EVER order from JCREW again!
Can you tell I am SOOOOO MAD

ITA. the prices do not match the quality and the sizing (like many other stores) has changed. i used to wear a size 2 now, the 0s are even too big.

i like them but they've def changed. i go to the outlet every sumer though and get tees, tanks and shorts. they fit me very well.
but the prices may be the result of them going public a year or so ago. it used to be a privately owned company.

I agree!! I used to shop there is high school and it was not that $$$$$ now it is crazy I just dont get it, I have a pair of boots from them I bought in hight school amazing leather up to the knee lase up boots that cost me $200 dollars and that made sense for what they are, but those flats now....they have to be kidding me......

Did they go public?, but when i worked at the Gap the corporation said that J-crew can charge that high because they are private... I'm confussed "IRREGARDRESS"(love to use this word hahahaha ) Their prices are crazy!!

they always put final sale stickers on things that were not ordered as final sale- bring your email receipt to the store and they will take it back - this has happened twice to me

It seems like over the past year, the prices have gone up, up, up, however they do have some pretty comfy flip flops! Does not even seem like their clearance is ever that great either.
