Is this middle name too weird?
Lyzabeth ????
First name will be Alana....and i really wanted a name that starts with a L..for the middle name (after both grandfathers)...Not too many L names go well with Alana, that's the problem.
I thought Alana Lysabeth sounded OK.
I found the name just by doing a google search.

It's a different spelling of the main charachter of the books the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo! In the book her name was Lisbeth
I think it is pretty and it is special since it pays homage to your grandparents

I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of names that have alternate spellings, but that's because I have a very uncommon name and I hateeeeee having to spell my name all the time. I know it's just a middle name, but just how I feel personally.

It doesn't sound like you have that much attachment to the name, just the letter. Otherwise I'd never say anything negative about another person's name choice.
But, as someone who hates her own middle name, I'd try to make hers not onerous. If she ever has to use it, it's going to have to be spelled every single time (Alana will already have to be spelled since there's so many ways to spell that, with an E, double L or double N, etc).
Personally, I'd use something either much more simple (like Lynn) or common (like maybe Lisa, Linda, etc.)
Just my $0.02 -- my middle name doesn't flow with my first name at all and I've always disliked it. I asked my mom why she chose it recently and she said it was just because they wanted to use an N.
I do like the way Alana sounds with an L middle name though! Whatever you choose, it'll be perfect. DD will always be spelling her first and last name. It's just how it goes.  Her middle name, though, she doesn't have to lol.

I think it sounds pretty, but to be totally honest, it reminds me of how a child with articulation problems would pronounce "Elizabeth." This is probably because I work in a special education preschool, but that was my initial reaction.
How about Alana Lindsey or Alana Leah?
BTW, I love the name Alana.

What about Lizabeth? I think i may like that spelling better..more simple.
I'm open to other "L" names that might go good with Alana..if anyone has any suggestions.

I am sorry to say, but I am not a fan. I also feel like it sounds like Elizabeth being mispronounced. I prefer Lizbeth, without the "a."

I was also thinking Alana lane , but does that sound like a street name?

I like this spelling MUCH better. We actually have a friend named Lizabeth - so it IS a name
