i had no options hon - i had SEVERE cysts with horrifying pain. that was at a time where i needed a doc note to have them covered under insurance. basically, the note had to say i needed them for MEDICAL reasons...fun stuff!!

I was never reallyon it either. I just had no desire and couldn't remember it everyday, anyway. My ob/gyn tried to push me to take it but I simply refused!

Never been on it either... I was always nervous about side effects, so I just charted. I can't really see myself ever going on it- when I am done having kids, I would rather have my tubes tied.

a couple months before the wedding i started on the patch. then one day a friend told me about the risk of blood clot- i casually mentioned to my dh and he was like- i dont want to increase your chances unnecessarily- so the last 4 years- no BC never got to test how effective it was

i was never on it either... i didnt think the risks were worth it for me espcially since i was a smoker and a cousin of mine was on the patch and had a stroke because of it

I never took bc until the month before my wedding and took it for only 6 months...my reasoning was that i wanted to fully experience bd without condoms or pull and pray since we were finally married but didn't want to start having kids right away...we both didn't really like it, so i stopped and i don't think i will ever go back on it again.

I was never on BCP. I have a strong family history of reproductive issues, and they Drs are pretty sure that the hormones my mother took as a teenager led to her cancer. (Not to say that BCP causes cancer, but if you are at high risk like I am, then the hormones do not help).
It is also why I was not interested in doing IF treatments even though it took us YEARS to get PG. Now there is non-hormonal treatments I hear, so that is great!

I was never on BCP. I never had the desire to. EVen though AF is really bad, i get so bad that i can barley move for the first 3 days. I lay in bed and cry. When i am at work i need a heating pad. Somone told me to go on BCP but i did not like the negative side affects i heard about. So i never went on it. Plus i could never remember to take a pill everyday.

um, 12 years later and off the pill they're still irregulart and now it's "oh i don't think you're ovulating from both sides." well, it would have been nice if you figured that out a long time ago.
I think BCP just cover up a lot of problems that the doctors don't look into because the pill will regulate you so you're "fine."

that is so terrible.. all the things that girls find out afterwards when they finally come off the pill..

It's funny, well actually scary...I went on Yasmin about 6 months before the wedding bc I was due to get AF the day of the wedding, and I get horrible cramps and i did not want to deal with that for obvious reason....so i went on the yasmin and changed my cycle and was able to escape that problem. Right after the wedding I started to not right on it at all, developed another LARGE ovarian cyst (had them in the past) so I just stopped them.
Recently now I found out that i have a blood clotting Disorder and my Primary said that i should never EVER be on BCP bc of this and that I would most certainly developed a clot!
ISn't that scary!!!!!!!

I was on it for 2 days and it raised my BP so high I temporarily went blind in one eye. So never again!!!
My sister was on it but about 10 years ago it caused a blood clot in her eye and she is now permanetly blind in her left eye.

I was on it very briefly about 10 years ago, but came off it after a couple of months because I was WAY TOO emotional. 
Then, when I was on Accutane it was mandatory to be on it. As soon as my Accutane treatments were over...I was off of it. - again...way too emotional.
For the most part I've never been on BC for a long enough period of time.
