Re: Is Suri's bottle a big deal?
In my opinion, she should be off the bottle by now. Period. It doesn't matter if it is comforting or not, her parents should have started transitioning her to a sippy a long time ago.
ETA: Not that I care one way or another about what Suri puts in her mouth. Her parents are doing what they think is best, I just don't happen to agree.

"Why does Katie still have a bottle".
Katie Still on the bottle, thats worse than Suri being on the bottle, now this probably explains the whole mystery and we can stop trying to figure it out.
Sorry, had to make a funny out of the typo

Just curious but why is that whenever someone bashes a celebrity's kid so many of you take it so personally?
Maybe because I'm a mom, too, and let's face it, if people are judging celebrity moms, I'm sure you're looking at me and doing the same thing. That's annoying to me. So yes, I take it personally.
Exactly.
It's just the same if someone were to call a celebrity ugly and you happen to look just like them.
Even though you aren't mad for the celebrity themselves, part of you internalizes it because it hits close to home.

Re: Is Suri's bottle a big deal?
eh- she shouldn't be on a bottle still- but she is- and it is what it is. she won't be 30 and still have a bottle. and they have the money for any teeth correction. the kid will probably have veneers any day now anyway.

The other issue is the kid is followed around by paparazzi & photographed. If she's using the bottle for comfort, I could see them not wanting to take it away from her.
This makes alot of sense and i suspect it could be her little "security blanket"

Re: Is Suri's bottle a big deal?
My 2 cents. There is no reason for anyone in the world to be concerned about Suri's bottle or lack thereof. She is healthy, well fed, well dressed, has a roof over her head and is apparently well loved. These are things I wish every child had.

well I am asking purely out of not even knowing what is proper and/or safe...but I guess there is no right answer. Just know, I myself have NO opinion! LOL! However, while it's not our business if J LO gets thin, fat, or divorced (random examples) or if Aniston changes her hair, since these people are in the spotlight, even when it's not our business to say what is good/bad/right/wrong, we do b/c that's just the nature of the beast! But I totally agree...that yes, the fact that she is loved and cared for...this is what matters. The bottle thing is just me being clueless and wondering if it's a no no!

Oh my post wasn't directed at you for asking. I know you were curious. And I think you got your answer - the standard (according to most pediatricians and pediatric dentists) is to have the child weaned by a year. Having said that - very few people that I personally know live up to the 'standard' in every area, ya know? And I am guilty of making my little snide comments about celebrities here and there so I don't think I am above the fray. But I want to be. And I aim to be.
It IS the nature of the beast though.. beast being the operative word.

yeah...i did get good answers! :) I guess the bottle is also a security issue, as others said. I know when I was little if someone tried to take away my Lana Banana glasses, I was NOT having it. No child should walk around with yellow, heart-shaped glasses flocked with mini bananas on each end for years. I am not kidding. LOL.

Re: Is Suri's bottle a big deal?
I am not Suri's mother, grandmother, aunt or pediatrician. Therefore, it is not a big deal to me. Every parent is different and every child is different. I don't have any say in how they raise their daughter, right or wrong.

Re: Is Suri's bottle a big deal?
I don't think it's a big deal. It's one way of getting a drink to the mouth.
What I think is a BIT odd is that they are still using those playtex drop-in bags inside the bottle. I always think of "infant" when I see those. But, who cares? In the end she is thriving and cared for and if she loves her bottle, so what...there could be much worse!!

Re: Is Suri's bottle a big deal?
When I see a kid at her age with a bottle I do think why?
My ped told us at 12 months to get off the bottle.
I associate a bottle with a baby.
