Is anyone else waiting until 6 mos for solids?
Our ped told us to start solids (DD will be 5 mos next week), but I'm inclined to wait. I know that the AAP now recommends waiting until 6 months for a variety of reasons, all of which are of concern if they do, in fact, have to do with starting solids earlier.
I'm trying to understand the benefits, if any, of starting solids before 6 months.

Is anyone else waiting until 6 mos for solids?
We tried at 6 months for a few days. We felt like he was getting a reaction, so we held off for another month.

My ped gave us the go ahead at 4 months. I asked if there was a reason I should start when the AAP recommends waiting. He had no great answer other than that recommendation go back and forth over time so i think his thought is that it's no big deal either way. I waited until 6 months.
