Is anyone else deathly afraid of bugs?

I feel like I have some sort of disorder when it comes to bugs. When I see one, think I feel one on me, I FREAK out. I scream, and if one touches me I sometimes cry because I am so scared.
My most hated ones are CRICKETS, spiders, any creepy crawly ones..

I hate our basement because there are always bugs down there and I saw the first one of the season last night. I looked to my left and saw this 2 inch long wormy thing with a bunch of legs crawling towards the ceiling. I almost died! Now I am afraid to go back down there to do laundry.

DH gets so annoyed with me and doesn't understand.. "its just a bug.." he says..

Same here. I have a panic attack if it's a big one I scream like a kid and my DH gets so mad at me!

OMG yes!!!!!!!! I am ridiculous. Bees, wasps, beetles, crickets, spiders, even moths! I get so freaked out when they are near me, it's actually embarassing. I can't even kill them myself, I make dh do it. He doesn't get it, thinks I'm nuts. Uh, it's the one thing I hate about warm weather. I have this huge queen bee by my deck & I won't even go out there. I wish I could get over it!

I think that those on here that know me will attest to the fact that I am the BIGGEST WEENIE IN THE WORLD when it comes to being afraid of bugs

I can't even take an ant or ladybug crawling near me never mind all those other disgusting things you all have mentioned. Just the sound of wings flapping near my head or ears sends me running for cover. I was in the shower yesterday, looked up and saw a spider I jumped out of the shower, got DH to get rid of the spider and begged him to stay in the bathroom with me because I had the heebie jeebies after that.

Thankfully all he does is laugh at me when I get like this. This is my favorite time of year and I hate that this is when the bugs are out.

One time I was driving in my car, thought something landed on my neck and somehow was lucky enough not to crash the car when I freaked. It turns out a piece of my hair fell out of my pony-tail and landed on my neck!

you are SO NOT alone! I killed 2 spiders today and God knows how many this week I freaking HATE BUGS! but spiders are my worst nightmare

The only reason I am no longer afraid of spiders is bc I was told they eat all the other gross bugs.

Bees and flies don't bother me.

gross bugs make me cry like a 4 year old.

And don't even get me started on mice.

Oh man I am so grossed out and sick after I see a bug - no matter what kind. Blech!!! I feel like there is one on me even if I just see it. Forget about it if one gets on me.

I can't even kill them. Someone else needs to do that.

I'm terrible with bugs.

DH gets mad at me because if we are hanging out outside and I see a bug I ask him to kill it. He says that isn't fair because it's nature. So he refuses to kill them when we are outside and I'm usually so freaked I go in anyway.

DH gets really mad at me. My worst fear are spiders though by far.

It depends. When I have to kill a bug that is particularly gross looking I will scream as I do it and sometimes find myself starting to cry because it grosses me out so much.

My husband is worse though- he hates bugs to the point that he can't look at them- which leaves ME to have to handle any bug we find in the house.

Everyone thinks that I am "the type" that would be afraid but I am totally not. I can pick them up and pet them. My mom is deathly afraid and she screams. My grandmother used to tell her that she was teaching me to be afraid. Well, maybe it had the opposite effect.

OMG - I was just sitting at my laptop, minding my own business and there was a SWARM of gnats in my dining room!!!!!!

There must be a hole in the screen door that they were getting through!!!!


I'm not afraid but this was just BLECH!!!

I am freaked out by bugs. Especially down here. Australia has some of the biggest bugs around. Cockroaches (I am talking 2 inch ones ) are by far the worst.

I hate bugs too, so you are not alone.

I am petrified of crickets, just by typing the word makes me shiver...

I first heard them last night from my window and got all creeped out. This is one of the reasons why I hate the summer.

I'm TERRIFIED of spiders, a real cold sweat inducing fear, I cry, throw up, get goosebumps the whole nine yards, tried therapy once, years ago, but they had one in a glass case and I couldn't stay in the room. I can't even watch them on TV. It really limits me, I love to garden, but as soon as I see one I have to come inside and then stay inside, I really wish I could do something about it, but I'm too scared

I'm totally freaked out by any bug. Just the other night I was wondering how I'm going to make it through another summer filled with bugs. Of course to people who aren't afraid of them, "it's just a bug" but to someone who has a bugphobia, it's totally understandable. I'm trying not to transfer my phobia to my kids but it's very very very hard not to react, it's just instinctive.

I have arachnophobia, roach-phobia, silverfish-phobia...all of it. DH screams like a girl so I usually end up holding my breath while I kill them with his shoe.
