Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
I'm talking about 2 inch heals for work with business suits. When I go into my office I take the train and walk a lot so I don't commute in heals, however sometimes I have to make site visits and cannot carry a change of shoes. I am 5 feet tall and there is no doubt that heals complete my outfits! So does anyone else commute comfortably in heals? I see women in Manhattan with really great, sexy shoes and always think, she must be soooo uncomfortable! I'm not sure if the brands like aerosole are worth it.

Really? How do your feet not hurt?? So maybe it's a post-kids thing, I have 2 or maybe I'm just getting old (34)and am more into comfort than fashion lol. I think I didn't complain about heals in my 20s.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
Yes I am comfortable in heels and I really hate to say yes to other question: yes, brands like aerosoles are worth every penny.
Keep in mind that I am inherently cheap. BUT I have learned that there is a huge difference in the quality of shoes. If I buy shoes from Naturalizer or Aerosoles or even Banana Republic I can wear them no problem all day and I am a teacher.
BUT if I buy from Payless or even Target I'm in agony within hours.
Also, avoid shoes with a wooden sole, try to find ones with rubber soles because they will absorb shocks as you walk.

naturalizer, aerosoles, and a little pricer but so worth it: cole haan with the nike air technology... all soooo comfy. I wore patent aerosoles heels to wedding at 8.5 months pregnant with no issues at all!

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
I have never been able to wear heels. Some people can and in fact some people have told me that their calves have gotten so used to it that flats are painful. I do think that some people just tolerate the pain of heels. I have seen women in the city whose feet are very obviously swelling out of their pumps and they must feel it where the pumps are digging into them. I guess we are all different. It is difficult when I have to wear suits, which is fairly often.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
Before I became a SAHM I wore heels every single day and they were between 3 & 4 inches. I walked and ran better in them then in flats (on the rare occasion I need to run down the hall a few times ). Now having 2 kids and being out of heels for 3 years, I am lucky I last a night in them. Just not the same.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
I find, like PP, that certain brands ARE comfortable. I just found Liz Claiborne heels and they are a delight!
With that in mind, I will tell you that I can wear them ALL day but the minute I start walking on pavement or concrete, then it's downhill. So I will wear different shoes and change when I get to school.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
The only heels that I find are comfortable are the ones with a bit of a platform. I dont know how women walk in stilettos - especially out clubbing.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
I live in very high heels. I am so used to them. I don't wear the kind that are supposed to be comfortable, either I worked for years as a bartender & I had to wear heels and I just got used to it. Not that I recommend conditioning yourself to do it, because it's probably bad for my back & my feet.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
I am one of those people who can't walk more than a block in them. Even comfy ones. I gave up and started wearing cute flats or low wedges. I'm 5'1 and I probably look frumpy, but blisters and sore feet are not worth it to me anymore!

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
When i was younger and thinner, wearing heels was very easy, 4 inch, 5 inch was no problem at all,
Now that i am older and don't have the metabolism i had before, that extra weight makes my feet hurt so much faster, and the strain on the knees also can be a problem.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
It really depends on the shoe. I have a pair of 3.5" Nude pumps by Unisa that I got at Century that I can run in. I have a pair of 3" Guess peeptoe pumps taht I can barely stand in!
ETA: I also looooove wedges, if you consider them a "heel." I can wear 4" wedges all day long.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
I love heels and wear them to work basically everyday. Every so often, however, I do buy a pair that kill my feet. That's always a bummer.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
I wear these every day AT work, and sometimes I forget to take them off & wear them home. They are a low heel with a strap so I find them very comfortable for everyday.
When I wear high heeled boots in teh winter, I wear them all day, including commuting.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
I wear heels every day to work & most of the time I commute in them - I tend to wear a flat shoe if its raining or snowing out for commuting.
I DEF agree that the cheaper the shoe the more PAINFUL they will be to your feet as the day moves on.
I try not to go higher than a 3.5 inch heel for work, but I do have a pair of Tahari heels that are 4 inches that I LOVE. I also bought a pair of Joan and David that are also 4 inches that I can wear for the entire workday with no problems.
I bought a pair of Aerosoles wedges for the summer - I LOVE them. I even walked Cinque Terre in Italy in them back in June with no probelm.

Re: Is anyone actually comfortable in heals?
I can't wear very high heels at all because I have bad knees & it hurts them too much. I don't mind low heels, like under 3"
