IPOD
I want one. Give me some feedback about yours. Which one? Who has the best deals now?
I'm buying myself a present. I deserve one.
TIA!

Re: IPOD
I have a 2 gig second generation nano. I love it. The battery life is about 24 hours on this thing. I enjoy it and it's very user friendly. I hate ITUNES though. I use a different program to put music on my ipod. I wish I had more capacity but it's so small. I also have a car adapter so I can listen to it in my car. As for deals Apple typically doesn't discount them too much. I would check the major retailers like bestbuy and circuit city to see if they have any specials. HTH

I have the 2 gig Nano. it's ok... loved it at first, but not using it too much lately.
I'm sure as a commuter, you would get a lot more use out of it than I do.

the nano doesn't play movies. that's the reg iPod that costs more
eta: circuit city has them on sale now

For me it's not enough room. I have about 30 gb of music and would like to have one that could keep all of my music on it. You can delete songs fromt he ipod as you like. You can also rearrange them. As previously stated I cannot see movies on mine. There are certain players that can be hooked up to the tv and allows you to record shows onto them. If you take the train this might actually be something that interests you.

Re: IPOD
yes, I need to be entertained on the train. Also, I want to have crappy ear buds that bleed out so everyone can hear what I hear only stratchier. I know I enjoy that, I'm sure everyone else will too..
Seriously, I think I may have to spring for the newest and bestest. I need to be entertained!

that's cool. I was thinking of buy.com or any other sites too..they tend to have them for less and with additional goodies.
How does 80 gig fare for you?

Re: IPOD
I have the last generation Mini - 2g...it is NOT enough room. I am constantly deleting albums to replace them new ones. That is the only con for me.
I love the size and the style (even more than the nano, so I'm glad I got it when I did).
If you are big into music and have a large library, I would go with the full size iPod.
I love iTunes - haven't had a problem with synching or anything else.

The 80G is great. I have 700 songs on it at this point. It can hold about 20,000. The 30G holds about 7,500

Re: IPOD
I just got one from DH for my birthday 2 weeks ago. I love it so far!! It's a 30 GB one that has a color screen and plays music, videos and photo slideshows. I got it in black, which looks funny with the white earphones, but who cares! The package says it holds 7500 songs

Re: IPOD
I have the 30G with room for about 7,500 songs & am not nearly out room yet!! (only had it since January).
LOVE IT!! I take when I go for a bike ride, when I walk & recently when I go for rides on my motorcycle!!
It was worth getting sonce the Nano just below it was the same price & it could hold so many more songs AND video!
I think I paid about $250 for mine at Circuit City before I bought any accesories for it.

Re: IPOD
I just got a nano two days ago! I had a shuffle that I really liked (held about 100 songs) but it died.
My one complaint with the Nano is that it requires iTunes 7.0. We don't have internet at home, so DH downloaded the upgrade at work yesterday, brought it home and it's not compatible with our operating system. Easy enough to update if you have internet on the computer you want to update, but we don't... anyway, moral is, check to make sure whatever you buy is compatible - technology is moving really fast

As long as you buy the Apple Care Protection plan for it you should be fine...any problems with it that are short of you throwing it down on the ground and breaking it,they will replace.

Re: IPOD
I had an ipod, it stopped working after 14 months and it wasn't even worth getting fixed. It never worked that well when it was working, the batter gage never showed how much charge was actually left, it would say it had a full battery, after being left to charge all night, than 10 minutes of play when I was on the bus and it ran out of batteries. I have a Zen now and it works great. I wouldn't buy another apple product, the Ipod totally put me off of buying their stuff.

Re: IPOD
I have the ipod nano, 1g. It holds up to 200 songs, and it's perfect for me since I only use while I take the subway.
I got mine at the apple store but Macmall.com has great deals.
Also next one I get will be the zune, which is like the ipod but is made by Microsoft. it's just like the video ipod.
