well I cave on that one- but just about every point is pushing it to me
and I would LOVE to see how many things McCain and Bush agree on- I am sure it's ALOT more then 20
last paragraph:
So, although he has been ranked as the most liberal senator by the National Journal and obviously hasn't voted with Bush as often as Sen. McCain has -- based on his voting "record" -- Obama's "rhetoric" still sounds a lot like, well, Bush. McCain might want to take that into account the next time Obama talks about another Bush term.
i had to laugh at that part - because it almost seems like she's that kid in the playground pushing the two big boys to fight fight fight yea, that was funny

What is very interesting is that although Obama is "liberal", he still thinks that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. How is this liberal? It sounds pretty conservative to me!
he is in favor of civil unions
all the same rights with out the title

I didn't read the article, but I don't see the big deal with Obama agreeing with McCain or Bush on some issues. It is silly to think that because they are members for opposing parties they MUST disagree on every issue. They do disagree on lots if issues and are two COMPLETELY different men, with different values, goals, leadership strengths etc. Anyone who doesn't see that or who would read this piece and then believe that Obama is just like Bush would also probably believe just about anything you fed him or her.
Edited b/c I never proofread and make mistakes... no one said it should be taken as he is the same as GWB. sheesh, I just found the comparison of these issues interesting. that's all
I was just thinking/typing outloud...wasn't directed towards you. I was thinking of the first debate when Obama said "I agree with John, but..." and the McCain camp jumped all over it and took those snippets and spliced them together or counted them up and used them in the campaign. I always thought "so what?" I just don't think it's bad to find common ground with people.

" well I don't have a child- and I am not in the lowest income bracket- so how would this help me?
Obama wants to help EVERYONE making less then $250K

My DH has been yelling about this for the last 3 months - McCain should be slamming Obama with this. I don't know what he is waiting for.

Re: Interesting - 20 ways Obama agrees with GWB
A lot of these points ARE a stretch. Particularly education (he is for No Child Left Behind in principal, but says not enough funding was ever put into this program to see results), abstinence (he's not against teaching abstinence, but believes teens should know about contraception--a very key difference), offshore drilling (very misleading--he is for doing some offshore drilling, but stresses over and over that the we need to look for alternative fuel sources, more oil is not the answer).
I could go on and on. Affirmative action is one of the few items that seems correct.
A typical somewhat true, but not completely, political piece.
