I'm so paranoid
I'm 22wk1d today and I can not stop thinking that something will go wrong with the pregnancy. I'm paranoid that the cord will get wrapped around the babies neck I feel awful that I think this way but I can't help it.
Does anyone else drive themselves crazy about things that could go wrong?
Last night I found myself pushing my stomach asking the baby to kick me so I know he's alright. I think I got him mad because he started kicking/punching me. I just wish I could stop.
Thanks for listening.

Re: I'm so paranoid
Welcome to my world! I am so worried about everything since I had a miscarriage with the first pregnancy. I think its just to show us what mothering really is like- you NEVER stop worrying AFTER they are born either!

Re: I'm so paranoid
I have been this way the whole time.
1 in 1000 babies have cord accidents. The odds are against it. Cords wrap around the babies' necks all the time and nothing happens. Don't worry about that. I did the same thing with the poking. In fact I still do it whena few hours go by without feeling her move. Just relax and enjoy your pregnancy. It goes too fast.

Re: I'm so paranoid
Thank you ladies. Not that I'm happy that others feel the same way (because it's an awful feeling) but I am happy to know that I'm not alone.

Re: I'm so paranoid
I sometimes get nervous and try to sit still to see if I feel the baby move.
He is not moving all that much, actually I should say... at my last sono he was moving like crazy....I just can't feel him as much, because my placenta is in front of him.

Don't worry about things like that. It is so infrequent it is like a 1 in a million fluke thing. My babies cord IS wrapped around his neck and it is somewhat normal. They are just monitoring me more closely. Don't worry yourself!

Re: I'm so paranoid
I worry constantly. When I first found out I was pregnant and I told my dad how worried I was all the time, he said get used to it, this is only the beginning...I still worry about you. As parents, worry is an emotion I think we just have to learn to live with and deal with.
