I'm over a week late!!! UPDATE below
I'm over a week late from the longest my cycle ever ranges and I really think I'm preggo!!! If so, I'm 6 weeks today and I'll be going to the doctor next week to confirm. Please send me sticky dust!

Nope, I'm going straight to bloodwork. I honestly don't trust HPT's, I've heard of had false positives and negatives even though it's rare it happened to me with my former pregnancies, probably due to PCOS but I can't confirm that it's the actual reason.

Yes because I monitor but I actually ovulated early this month and was very surprised! According to the doctor, if I ovulated earlier than usual my period should have come sooner, also because your luteal phase stays the same. Even so, I didn't want to jump the gun and run to the doctor the minute AF was officially late just in case!

yes if you dont ovulate around day 14 of your cycle you have to go by when you ovulated not by LMP. many doctors dont measure this way - which is part of the reason that some babies appear to be 2 or 3 weeks early or late. measuring by LMP is more of an "old school" way to do it although many doctors still do it. the nurse tried to do that to me when i went for my first OB appt after IVF. she measured me at like 6w and i knew i was 10w. i kept saying my last AF was only from the BCP and that she should go by my ER date (ie. ovulation date). in the end when i had the sono they measured me dead on with the ER date and not my LMP...
regardless of that though, if you think you are six weeks why would you wait until next week for a doctor appointment?? i would insist they take me now since at 6w you would see a heartbeat already and your betas would be plenty high. if i didnt take an HPT i would at least go for early bloodwork to confirm the pregnancy, because it would be super disappointing to go in thinking you are 7w pregnant and only then find out that you aren't pregnant at all. its just my opinion but i wouldn't want to be disappointed like that!!

I have an appointment with my RE for next week for bloodwork/physical exam and possible sono, I'm not entirely sure what their plan is. I know what you're saying and I'm trying not to get too excited based on "symptoms".

you ovulated between August 17 to the 19th and you had your last period August 3rd?? is that right?
so basically you ovulated around cd15... add on the 14day LP and your period would have been due around Aug 31st.
This would all make you 6 weeks along.
looks like a pretty typical cycle to me if you are pregnant.

I would say around 5wks.. but I would also POAS  
ETA: It could be closer to 6ish but I always err on the side of caution since you don't know exactly when you ovulated.

I dont know how you can hold out from POAS!!!
have you temped? i think only detecting a LH surge doesnt necessarily mean you O'd. But hopefully you did...good luck at your dr's appt!!

my doctor gives your original EDD based on LMP, which would make her 6 weeks "for now". then a little further along, when they start to measure, they often change your EDD based on the measurements, which tend to coiincide with an earlier or later ovulation.
