Im OUT!! Question about Clomid??
Well AF showed today. I dont know how much more i can take...i know atleast 10 girls (family & friends) that just had babies or are due in the next 3 months. Im soooo happy for them yet so upset. Just have to keep trying. I know having PCOS doesnt help but i did get pregnant in Feb...so im staying hopeful. I do have a question...after i had my MC early this year my dr said after 5 cycles he will start me on clomid. He said for me to call when i get AF after my 5th cycle which would be now. So i call yesterday to make an appt cause i knew AF would be here anyday. Well they gave me something for next week. Now i know its short notice but i did explain that the dr told me to call when AF came. Can someone tell me what the process is with Clomid? From what i understand you take it during AF? ...The earliest she gave me was tuesday so it may be to late. Another thing to be upset about. Sorry so long. If you made it this far, Thank you!

You usually take Clomid CD 3-7 or CD 5-9. You need to have a sonogram first to make sure that you don't have any cysts on your ovaries before you can start taking Clomid. HTH.

your OB is giving you Clomid? or are you seeing an RE? you should really be monitored by an RE on Clomid to make sure you don't produce too many follies. you need to have sonos to check.

My OB said he would give me the clomid. I was thinking about seeing an RE but though i needed a referral from my ob which i dont think he would give. Only because he said he would give me the clomid.

wow, i've never heard of that.
i know with some insurance companies, they want you to be one year past any pregnancies before they cover IF treatments, but i don't know if that includes seeing an RE. i personally would not feel comfortable with an OB that didn't want me to be monitored more closely by an RE - but that's a totally personal decision. i would just make sure your OB explains all the risks to you and monitors your follies often (unless you want to be like Kate and have sextuplets )

Im not famililar with all this stuff thats why im asking here. Would my OB not be able to moniter me while on the clomid? All i know is he said if nothing happen by the 5th cycle we would start the clomid. I could have sworn he said HE was going to give it to me but just maybe he will refer me to an RE.

oh of course he can monitor you! it's just that not all OBs do - that's all i meant. and they are able to prescribe it. but because you never know how you'll respond to it (some women produce lots of follies, some only one or none at all) and because there are different dosages, that's why i would make sure he was going to monitor you, that's all. 
i know of many women on the IF board who have taken Clomid - maybe you can post a question on there?

I understand. Thats why i was asking because im unsure about the whole process. I know he does all his sonos in the office so i figured if he was the one to give me the colmid then he would be able to moniter me, or so i hope. I dont know how it works so i will definitely go over to the IF board and ask there. Thanks for your help!!
