Took us a year after going off the pill, we just let nature run it's course and didn't get drive ourselves nuts with things

Usually they say it can take anywhere from 6-12 months of trying to get pregnant if there aren't any underlying issues. I've known people who've gotten pregnant on their first try, and some people (like myself) who have been trying for years with no success.

Have you been charting, temping or using OPKs to predict when you are ovulating? I recommend trying those for a few cycles to pinpoint ovulation, that way you know exactly when to Chat Icon. You can purchase the cheapie internet ones from amazon, so you don't waste money. Trying to have a baby can get pretty expensive lol.

Good Luck!

Re: Im a newbie w a question

I felt the same way about letting nature do its thing so we tried for just about a year but now I am charting my temp to get a better picture of my cycle and ovulation. I feel like you will know when to really start charting and stuff. It was like a little fire starting burning in me and I was like ok I'm ready to get into the whole TTC world now cuz nature ain't working lol!

We're on month 13 but we're doing fertility treatments now. That started around month 9.

Re: Im a newbie w a question

It took us about 8 or 9 cycles off BCP (about 7 calendar months). I had short cycles 24-25 days; I could have 2 periods in 1 month sometimes!! At first we were just wining it; and I was keeping track of my cycles on Fertility Friend. But after a few months; and observations with my body; I felt like the “O” days were off from what FF gave me. I started monitoring Cervical Mucus and we conceived the 2nd cycle I was checking CM.

Re: Im a newbie w a question

We only "winged" it for 1 cycle. The next cycle I started using OPK's and pre-seed and got my BFP!

I am a teacher and wanted to be due by a certain time...so I didn't really have much time to just wing it.

Re: Im a newbie w a question

We were trying for 8 months- i was never regular and often had to take Provera to get my period.
After the 8 months, we went to a fertility DR and got pregnant 3 months after that.
My son is almost 2 1/2 now

Welcome & good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon
3 months isn't long, don't worry! Our first was a pleasant suprise! We are now trying for #2; I have been off BCP for 14 months. We have been trying the good old fashioned way! Our next step will be OPKs.
Are you using opks? It can get very frustrating, I feel you Chat Icon
