Ikea crib
Anyone buy an Ikea crib?
We are expecting twins.... We have DS's crib that we will reuse, but was looking for something cheap and safe for the second crib.
Just wondering thoughts on anyone that bought one - we aren't concerned with getting something convertible.
Thanks!

Re: Ikea crib
I don't have one, but when I was researching cribs they were very highly rated by Baby Bargains.

Re: Ikea crib
I have an Ikea crib at my house for my grandkids. It is very sturdy, and was very inexpensive. I would recommend it.

I don't have one either but we strongly considered one and would have bought it except we found a great deal on a different brand that I liked the look of a little better. But by reading Baby Bargains I learned that all cribs, regardless of brand or price, have to meet the same safety standards, so it doesn't matter if you buy a crib that cost $100 or $1000, it will still be just as safe.

Thank you!!! We spent a fortune on DS's crib and I can't fathom doing that again.

Re: Ikea crib
We have the sudnik one too... actually, we got a few of them: two at our house & one at grandma's.
It's amazing. We have just converted it to toddler beds for both kids (2 & 3.5).
Very easy to put together, very easy to use, very sturdy, very easy to convert (I put together & converted the cribs).
I read the good reviews about it & went for it. One of my closest friends is doing the same with her expected twins!

Re: Ikea crib
We has one along with the IKEA mattress. DS used it since he was born. At one we turned it into the toddler bed (super easy). At 2 he got a twin bed.
The crib is under our bed, waiting for DC # 2.
I know many people don't like IKEA, but to me, it's a great option. It's not expensive, lasting (at least for us) and comes in a variety of colors/styles.

Re: Ikea crib
I've read good things about IKEA cribs, but just to give you another option, I got a Storkcraft crib from walmart.com to keep at my mom's house and it is surprisingly fantastic. And it was under 100 bucks!
