If your DC developed motor skills early
did you see a delay in language?
DS is 6.5m and is basically crawling and he is lifting himself up to stand, constantly. He is making noises but not letter sounds, no baba mama dada. DH says that this can happen with babies who develop motor skills early.
Did you find a delay? How much? When did they start saying words like mama, dada, baba? or even just a single letter sound?

Re: If your DC developed motor skills early
Ds crawled, rolled and walked early, and is speech delayed. BUT i dont think there is a connection. I honeslty think its because WE didnt give him a chance to ask or do it himself. We instantly did it for him. He said dada early, but still at almost 2 has limited words. He has def gotten better since starting speech, but not speaking like other kids his age. All kids are different.

Re: If your DC developed motor skills early
hmmmm DS crawled right before 7 months and walked 3 days before 10 months old.. at year appt dr. said he is supposed to have two words OTHER than mamma and dadda.
John has about 5 when he feels like it.
I think 6.5 months is way too early to be worried about it. I think every child is different and they do say early walkers late talkers.
Their brains can only handle so much at a time.. so if they are really physical.. it stands to reason that they "COULD" be later (I don't like calling it delayed) on verbal.
but...I'd wait a few months before I even thought about verbal milestones. Your DC is doing great!!

Thank you! I'm not really getting worried yet, but I definetly want to be aware and am trying to at least expose him.
The problem is DH is a psychologist (and works with kids) so he is "knows too much" and worries of course because this is OUR baby. He is a bit of a worry wart when it comes to DS and it makes me nervous
