I always have the TV on whether it is morning news for me or toons for the kids but many times it is background noise for us all!

When they watch it is
anything on NickJr or DisneyJr
so any of those shows
and
Thomas & friends on demand for my son!

DS watches Sesame Street, and maybe a little of Sid the Science kid. We aren't a big TV family, and DS has little interest in it to begin with.

I DVR Sesame Street...

So she usually watches 1 hour of Sesame St a day...

And then we watch Jeopardy and Wheel of fortune at night. She LOVES to clap when they spin the wheel and clap.

DS is 17 months old and watches:

Barney
Sesame Street
Fresh Beat Band
Bubble Guppies (currently his fave)
Dora
Diego
Blues Clues
Yo Gabba Gabba
Jack's Big Music Show

All of these shows have music/dancing. If a show doesnt, DS doesnt have much of an attention span for it because he LOVES to dance and clap with the characters. He has instruments we take out (drum, moraccas, bells, etc) and he likes to play them with the shows.

I dont let him watch mindless television. As long as its something that teaches him, hes allowed to watch it as often as he likes.

I usually have my Ipod on during the day so we don't have the TV on but I'll let him watch some TV about once a week. I like the PBS shows like Super Why and Word World or sometimes he'll watch Yo Gabba Gabba on Demand.

we have Disney Junior on in the morning - DD loves Mickey and the music on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, esp the hot dog song. she also LOVES warehouse mouse. she likes the intro song for sponge bob. when I'm home, we have the TV on a lot, but even when we have shows on for her (like in the morning while we're getting ready) as opposed to background noise, she rarely "watches" it. she usually just watches when a song is on (other than warehouse mouse, which she does watch, but it's a short vignette - only about 2 minutes). otherwise, she is walking around the room and playing with toys. sometimes she'll pay attention for a few minutes here and there but nothing major.

ds is 12 months and loves elmo, so we dont usually watch sesame in its entirety. showing him stuff in the house and comparing it to whats on tv has helped him learn more words.

he likes blues clues too.

and just the beginning of jacks big music show. he taps his foot and claps his hands like they do, but walks away when the theme song ends.

he loves watching real animals on tv too.

DD likes the shows on Noggin - Wonder Pets, Dora, Wubbzy, Bubble Guppies, Blues Clues. Sometimes she will ask for Mickey's Clubhouse and she went through about a 7 month phase of watching nothing but Thomas the Train.

As far as videos, she likes the Leap Frog Letter Factory and Potty Power.
