I'd like to institute a new tradition...

the 10 year Bridal Shower. Chat Icon

Listen to my plea....

As I approach my 10 year wedding anniversary at the end of this month, I feel that I am due for all new "stuff".

I'd like to propose the 10 year Bridal Shower.

Register for new pots, pans, linens, everyday dishes (cause God knows I've never used the Lenox), flatware, glasses...stuff that is PERFECTLY FINE...but I am sick and tired of looking at for 10 years.

C'mon ladies...are ya with me?

The DH can't see the reasoning of buying all new stuff "just because".

So I say a shower is necessary.

So...who's with me?

And if ya can...call my mother and tell her to set it up!

My mom still has things from her shower 35 years ago. I think it's adorable!

I'm not sure I can last that long without wanting new stuff, though...

excellent idea! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'd like to add to that new tradition with...
- the "I'm not married and I need stuff" non-bridal shower, and
- the "I have IF and I'd just like to get everyone together for tea" non-baby shower

To those that have broken stuff, I am right there with you. I have replaced all my everyday glasses, because even at $25 each, they really were not intended for everyday! I NEVER should have gotten expensive everyday glasses! I really should have registered for the $2 glasses at Williams Sonoma that I ended up getting myself anyway Chat Icon

valerie you kill me Chat Icon Chat Icon

I need some farberware too !!!

I have Calphalon pots and CANT STAND THEM Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
every time I get something "top of the line" (out of character for me, got talked into it Chat Icon) I wind up HATING it.

They were 5 times the price of most other brands. and the ones I use most are the few farberwares I have, LOOOOVE THEM !!!

I plan to get all new when we redo our kitchen.

I love the 10yr shower idea though ! Chat Icon Chat Icon
