I was really grossed out...

Not sure if this is the right board for this here issue I have but hear me out and guide me.

Tonight, DH and I were at JC Penney in the bedding department and I saw a family changing the diaper of their baby on a white bedding display. Now I am not a parent and I know things need to be done when they need to be done, but at Roosevelt Field, a two minute walk to the bathroom in the food court would have been a bit more appropriate. I have seen people do this in furniture departments and then walk to their cars. Change the baby in your car or in a bathroom. People buy floor samples of furniture. Would any of you ladies be grossed out by this?

I'd be grossed out.

And even though it's a baby, I think they are still entitled to some privacy and shouldn't be changed on a furniture display.

Re: I was really grossed out...

I told the salesperson but by that time it was too late. I would have made the person buy the comforter. I am not a germophobe but I can only imagine how many possible health risks are involved with that. Bodily fluids - universal precautions. I make sure my students put their bandaids in the red bin at work when they fall off. Ill be damned if Ill get sick from that!

I got one better than that...we went to an open house and as we were walking around we went into the master bedroom and a guy was change a baby on the bed... we apologized to the real estate lady for walking in...she said "Some People" and proceeded to tell us that they are not the home owners just potential buyers.....Chat Icon

Re: I was really grossed out...

Gross, just gross. People never cease to amaze me. Now I wonder if they'll remove that bedding from the display knowing that someone changed their child on it.

Not to say its right or anything but maybe she had a changing pad underneath so nothing was actually touching the bed? Chat Icon

Re: I was really grossed out...

I didnt see a pad. All I saw was her pick the baby up and pull her little pants up and walk away. No pad. No nothing.
