I want to throw up! (Update a second time :})
Damien was very anxious about starting 1st grade because of bigger kids on the bus and school. This morning he was doing a little bit of I don't want to go to school. The bus pulled up and Woo Hoo we have his bus driver from last year (we have a kindergarten center so it is a different route). He gets on the bus just fine lets me take pictures...then he doesn't know where to sit. He starts getting panicky and asks where to sit to the the bus driver. She tells him to sit anywhere. He runs off the bus and starts crying My poor DH had to force him back on the bus (Damien is freakishly strong) So my baby pulled away crying on his first day of school. I feel like total sh*t
UPDATE:
The bus driver called me a few minutes ago. It took them 25 minutes to get my stubborn boy into the school. His bus driver had to bring him in and he wanted to stay with her Thank goodness we had the same driver as last year I don't know what we would have done. His bus driver noticed that two kids from his bus last year were in his class, and he saw two other kids from his kindergarten so he calmed down. The principal told her to leave at this point and the teacher and principal took over. So hopefully he is doing better. I guess if he was really bad they would call me. This really sucks!!
UPDATE #2
I remembered that Damien's teacher had given her e-mail address when we got are welcome letter so I emailed her to see how he was and she wrote back to me (God bless her )
This is what she wrote:
Good Afternoon,
I apologize for not calling you earlier. Damien did have a rough start this morning but has calmed down and is doing beautifully. He is such a delightful young boy. I will call you after school if that is okay to discuss more. If you have any more questions or concerns, don't hesitate to e-mail me.

I love that we can communicate via e-mail, since I know it is so busy for them to call everyone. I feel so much better and can't wait to see him when he gets home. DH and I went out and bought him a new Yankee shirt for his first day!!

Aww..reading this broke my heart  Can you call the school to check on him? I am sure they will understand. I am sure he will do better on the ride home. I agree with what a previous poster said..tonite talk to him about where he can sit tomorrow.

ugh that's awful and heartbreaking.
I'm so sorry. But it will get better and he'll get better as time goes on. It's an adjustment.

aww.. I am sure once some of the other 1st graders got on the bus, he was fine, and he is having a great day at school.
The first day is always rough.

I think once he realizes it a bunch of last yr people he will be better. Safety in numbers you know. Tomorrow will be much better.
