When it comes to make up, do you end up throwing a lot out that is unused or do you use it all and then throw it out?
I love a lot of the colors that you girls post on here but I don't wear make up on a daily basis, well not anymore anyway and I threw out so much stuff because I had it over 2 years. So now I just have 2 blushes, a Bobby Brown eyeshadow set, my mineral make up and thats it.

I used to throw out a ton, and always long after I should have. Now that I buy higher end makeup and it costs more, I use it more, make sure I get colors that I know work for me and use it up, too. I figure if I'm going to spend this much $$ on it, I better get more use out of it.

I throw out mascara b/c you shouldn't have it more than a certain time.
Anyone know is the shelf life of make up?

I used to have so much but always used to use the same make-up.
I had a hard time letting go of those "free" gifts make-up.
Now, it's all gone. I trash. I was so tired of years old make-up that was just clutter in my cabinets.
I have learned to trash my mascara often. Max of 3 months.

I've thrown away TONS and TONS of makeup. I rarely do that now though. if I don't like something, I return it. stores take back used makeup as long as you have the receipt.
I got tired of throwing money in the trash.

Mascara I do go throw out often. My MIL told me 2 years max for shadows and blush. I think foundations are only a year ( the liquid kind).

I have the mac pressed powder that is probably a little over 2 yrs old-- but i use it as foundation/coverup - so i don;t use that much and i don;t wear it everyday so I still have alot left
so w. the exception of mascara i usually don't throw makeup out

I throw out a lot bc I buy a lot of eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc, on impulse.
Then I wear it 3 times, let it sit in my makeup bag and wind up throwing it out after 2 years.
