i thought Dh was joking
but he is not. My Dh wants us to host this years thanksgiving dinner. UMMMM hello buddy i am due in november, what would make you think i want to host a dinner.

Yikes, that is a tough one! Unless DH was doing all the prep work & cooking, I am not sure I would be comfy with that.

Ah hah! Silly boys! I told DH that I don't even want to host Passover for his parents because it would be two months before I'm due and our kitchen construction will barely be done!
Thanksgiving... that's just crazy! The only way I'd do it is if all I had to do was set the table and I ordered Boston Market!

well i will say last year we hosted thanksgiving and he cooked the turkey, but how hard is it to heat up some oil and place it in a deep fryer, i ended up making everything else

If he's doing EVERYTHING then no problem. That means the cooking, the cleaning, the cleanup - they just don't get it sometimes.

That's crazy, but sounds like he wants the family together at your place right around the time the baby is due. I'm sure if he wants it at the house he'll be very helpful. Are there going to be a lot of people over your house or a small family? When we have a lot of people over we hire someone to help out so you don't spend the entire time in the kitchen.

You can't blame them for being clueless - Especially in the beginning.
My DH thought I was SuperWoman (partly b/c I was still doing everything I did before @ warp speed)
Until I hit about 36 weeks and started getting swollen, and uncomfortable, and very tired, and slowing down .......I just physically not can not push myself any harder anymore ........
NOW that he SEES me like THIS (as opposed to my normal can't stil still self) he understands this is NOT an easy thing to do !!
I wouldn't suggest hosting if you're due in November - what if you're late ? Is EVERYONE going to hve cancel their thanksgiving dinner b/c you are having a baby ?? KWIM ??
My Mom usually does Easter, and asked my Aunt to do it instead this year - too close to my due date !!

If you don't have to do anything, you'll be fine. I was due on Christmas. I ended up having DS 2 weeks early. We moved into our house 5 days before he was born. We ended up hosting a very casual Christmas Eve dinner for DH's family. His siblings prepared a bunch of stuff at their place and then they came over and cooked the turkey and side dishes. I was still recovering from the c-section and just took care of DS. It worked out well b/c we got to see his family and didn't have to travel with a newborn.
