That is terrible!!!
I belong to that practice also, I just started. My son is a month old this Wed. I actually have an appointment to go for his one month check up. I am the one that wrote on the forum to ask if anyone knew of a better pediactric office because just from going to the office three times I am VERY unhappy with the staff.
I really like the Dr. but I do not care for the staff at all. There is one Dr. there that I had to see for an emergency and I will never go to her again.
I called to make appointments and when I speak to the staff, I make sure I get the persons name and I already asked for the name of the office manager. I am ready to talk to her or the Dr. if I have to. I have two cousins that also go to this practice and they also said they to not care for the staff and one cousin does not care for another one of the Dr.'s, she is switching Dr.'s.
If I have any more problems with this practice I will have to talk to the manager or the Dr. like I said and if I am not satisfyed then I will have to go to another practice.

That is horrible and I am even more shocked that the doctor didn't care after how great he has been with Ava.
Is the insurance at least taken care of at this point?

 I am sorry you had to deal with this. I used to work in a pediatrics office and I know how horrible the staff can be.

I would call that girl back now that your head is clear (I Hope ) and give her a piece of your mind!
Its a shame that people act this way. Its really unacceptable.
Good luck finding a new Dr. and I hope the formula situation gets resolved soon

That is ridiculous! I can't believe they would treat you that way. I hate when you find a good doctor, but the rest of the staff $ucks!

There is a GREAT practice in Smithtown- Smith Haven pediatrics- across from St. patrick's Church. Dr. Susulski is our Dr. 361-2121
Fabulous, caring staff. I can't say enough. And its no problem to speak to the Dr. He returns calls quickly.
That is my son's ped too and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

The really crappy thing is that the insurance is not taken care of. My parents' friend is a ped. and they had told me about him after I already picked this group, so I never went tyo him, but now we are switching to him and he's going to get to the bottom of this.

OMG....That is absolutely terrible. First off, I'd contact the office manager, THEN I'd write a letter to EACH AND EVERY DR IN THAT PRACTICE!!! They all have ownership in it. and just because YOUR Dr knows about the incident, doesn't mean the others do. I'd also see if there is someplace you can report the practice for poor bedside manner.....Terrible.
I'd also go as far as to get a letter from your insurance company stating the terms necessary to get the Neocate covered and show that to whichever practice you end up going to. It's worth trying to ask the Dr to say she needs it.

Rachel what that woman did to you was so wrong on so many levels...like you said this is about your daughter and her ability to eat which she needs to live...that woman should have showed some compassion for your situation.
To call you again and again to yell at you is uncalled for....I am so glad you will be finding a new office, hopefully this time they will have a heart!
