I really hate my DR. (kinda long)
and to say i really hate is bad for me.... So the story is I went in on Tuesday for a checkup nothing had changed, fine, no problem with that (im not ready anyway) that night and yesterday i felt really wet and icky and posted about it never called the dr. bc i knew i would get the answer "It's Normal" it was icky again today and not feeling like myself, so i finally call to just talk to a nurse, she says i would like you to come in so we can just make sure, she was very nice and i was like are u sure?? she said yes please come as soon as you can....... fast foward- i go there the other nurse saw me and said well how are u feeling blah blah blah, ends up my blood pressure is very high, and she wants to re- test is after the NST and the dr. checks to make sure it is not fluid leaking........ he comes in to do the test then says to me... you know u have come often this preg. that is not like normal... i was like well i was not willing to come in ur nurse said to, he then says well you did call us... what nerve does he have??? i was like well i was not sure, i have never been preg, before what do i know, and then i said well with the high blood pressure he just walked out and said i needed to see another dr. so i got no answer abou it and never got retested.... i left there crying like no other, and dh was like what is wrong and i just can't explain it, i am just so  at the dr........
sorry so long but i know u girls understand!
What do you think i should do about the blood pressure???

Im sorry your sad and the doc wasnt right to say that...cause I understand that you arent sure and the nurse did say to come in.
I know its kind of normal for high blood pressure to happen. Eating salt?
I dont even eat that much of it and Im swollen (so I was told today) and I have never experienced swelling so far.
Maybe he made your blood boil and your nervous and stressed...that could do it too!

thanks girls!! i have not really ate today bc i am not feeling to hot, like just not myself... but i am happy to not have to see him again bc he is so mean i hope he is not on call the day i go into labor........

The doctor was a little unsympathetic, I agree, but just try to hang in there...a few more weeks

I had high bp through entire pregnancy, so I was put on medication by ob/gyn and monitored by primary dr through pregnancy as well..........

yea i called the regular ob-gyn and that is how he treated me.......... i should of called my speicalist, he is understanding and would never say that.. and the other thing that ****** me off was with gd and everything he is the one who said i failed even though it was by 2 points and put me threw this hell... so at him

If I was you I would ask to see a different. Dr. He is not the proper Dr for a 1st pregnancy. Dr's should realize that they will have some patients who are nervous and have questions and some that do not. Don't let him make you feel bad. You are being a good mother.

I have to tell you that I am soooo PI$$ed for you....
To tell a patient that they are coming in to much!!!!! And to see another Dr!!!!!! Especially at this stage of the game!!!!
I personally would file a complaint...I dont know where exactly you would file that complaint BUT I would...
Here is where Im coming from...I lost a set of twins 14 years ago..partly b/c I was young and partly b/c I didnt question my doctor...Fast Forward to 8 years ago...it was ME who called the doctor just simply b/c "things didnt feel right"..and sure enough I was in preterm labor!!!!!
You should feel comfortable to call no matter what!!!!!!

Not to scare you but I would call your specailist right away and let him know about your HBP. Also, do you have any chest pains, spots before your eyes, swelling ubove and below the waist, pain right under your bra line? If so go to the hospital right away. These are serious signs of preclampsia and could be dangerous for you and your baby.
The nerve of your dr to say the things he said and then ignore a problem like HBP this late in your pregnancy. I would also shoot off a letter and fax it to them ASAP stating that you would be contacting your lawyer about this incident god forbid something goes haywire during the next couple of weeks and during your labor since he was NEGLAGENT!!(sp) That way it's on file at his office and get a return signed receipt so you know they got it.
I had something like this happen during my last pregnancy and let me tell you, once they got that letter I was treated completly different. They knew they were not just dealing with some mother they thought was neurotic.
You know your body the best. If you feel that something is not right SCREW them and call.

I agree. That was awful treatment REGARDLESS of what # of pregnancy this is. I never ask questions and never call my drs., so they actually worry I AM having problems but that I'm afraid to discuss them. I drove my dr. with DD nuts with all the calls, I know I did. I would insist on coming in for everything...but not once did he tell me not to, that I came too often. I did get patted on the back and told "it's normal," but generally it was nothing "major." I just don't know what else to say except that I've never known a dr. to think high blood pressure was NOTHING to scoff at in a pregnant woman. Otherwise, why would they bother to check it?

Honestly? This is why I HATE male OBs!!! They just don't understand what is going on in your body.
I agree that at 36+ weeks pregnant that high HB is a reason in and of itself to be monitored. I agree with the PP to call your high risk guy and TELL him what this other dr said!!
You don't feel well, you have every right to go in and see him. I am sorry he was being a jacka$$

If I remember correctly, you have gd and are on insulin. If you didn't eat at all today, of course you are going to feel like crap. The HB could be caused by anxiety.
That being said, your dr. is a jerk and should be reported to the medical board! I would call your specialist and if you really don't feel well, go to the ER.
Go with your gut feelings. It is your body! You know it better then anyone else. And don't forget, if your dr. is a male, then he really has no more of an idea about having a baby then you do!

Thanks everyone, and the only thing i really don't get is that i don't go into to see them at all. i saw them every 4 weeks like they said and 2 times in February upon their request for follow ups that is why i was caught off guard with his comment.... if i still feel icky tommorow i am going to call the speicalist i just wish he was the reg. dr.....

i'm sorry he treated you this way. it was unprofessional of him. you should def contact the high risk doctor and it can't hurt to let the jerk doc know that you do NOT appreciate his behavior or comments toward you! if you don't feel comfortable saying it to him put it in a letter, fax it and copy your reg. doctor too!

Three words. Change. Your. Doctor. I would not want this guy to take care of me if he has such bad bedside manners. You are under enough stress as it is and don't need someone like that making you feel bad. I'm so sorry he upset you.

That was seriously rude and wrong of your doc. It's better to go in and be sure than have something go wrong--that's what any doc should say! It's late in your pregnancy now, but afterwards, I'd get a new doctor who can do his job without complaining!
