I quit life!
Or at least thats how Im feeling right now-
Well lets see in the past hmmm.... maybe 3 hrs...
Ryan and I were playing on my bed... and I guess he is alot faster than me- and managed to crawl right off...
I seriously had a heart attack- he knocked the wind out of himself... along with scaring the cr@P outta himself... but thankfully- he is fine... after 2 min. of crying- he was walking crawling and laughing.... I hadnt even recovered at that point...
After DH throwing in my face- "well if you had been watching him"  we argued for about an hour- oh maybe an hour an a half- and all I can say is I offically hate him!
Oh and I made the biggest mistake by calling my MIL- to get another opinion.... Ohh how I dont think when Im panicking... and I think her response was something like "Well its ashame it took something like this for you to realize how fast he is" 
So thankfully an angel caught my baby- and he literally walked away with only a tiny scratch- but Im left felling so guilty, miserable...and angry....
And to top it off- we got audited at work today (which being that Im athe bookkeeper- is really all my responsibility) and the girl before me did nothing- so we are pretty screwed!
Im done! Just done!

Sorry! Things like this happen with kids. Even when watching them, things happen.
Gabriella opened a door when she first started walking and fell down a flight of stairs to my cement basement.
While in LI in June, I took two steps from the bed Gianni was napping and he woke up and crawled off the bed and landed on an plug and we almost had to get him stiches!
I'm sure most of us mom's have a horrible story to tell!

I can tell you Patrick has flown of the bed, couch, & high chair. Kids fall. Not your fault. Does not make you a bad mommy. My husband would have said the same thing. because as you know they are perfect .
Hand Ryan over to hubby & go take a bath for yourself. Or call a girlfriend & meet them for a coffee, drink, or even an ice cream.

It is, be proud. Especially with a boy. Gianni is constantly in to things and climbing already...so we've had plenty of accidents in less than nine months.

Take a deep breath and realize that this was NOT your fault and shame on your DH for not trying to making you feel better...
Our babies are gonna fall, scrape themselves and bang their heads a whole heck of a lot...we just simply can not be there every second or look into the future a few seconds to see what path they are going to take.
It stinks, but that is the journey of life...
I am so sorry work sux, whenever work is particularly stressful, I feel strained at home too...it's hard to disconnect when you are worried...If it makes you feel any better, I was cursed out by a director today...I believe the f-bomb was used, right in front of a label rep...
ETA: LOTS AND LOTS OF HUGS
Besides Ryan will have no memory of this, his only recollections of these times will be the love and caring you instill in his little heart, this little boy knows his mama is their for him every second...

This has happened to me more than once  Bryan has fallen off the bed becuase he used to nap there and is a fast crawler. He has been physically fine all three times but I have taken it out on myself pretty bad... I know I ten to over dramatize but I never want to be the reason for my child getting hurt.
Ps, I feel like quitting life today it has been a doozie.

Don't be so hard on yourself - it happens to us all. Jake has fallen off the bed, couch a few times - its scary, but after a few minutes of crying he is over it and onto the next thing. They have to learn some way that if you go over the bed, you are going to fall and get a boo boo. Babie are alot tuffer than we all think.
GO relax get a drink and tell hubby and your MIL no one is perfect!!!!!!

I had a very similar experience when Max was about 7 months old. I turned for a second, and he fell off the bed onto a hardwood floor. He screamed and threw up and I cried for hours....long after he stopped. He was fine and only threw up from screaming so hard. DH made me fell guilty, even though he thought he was "being supportive." Hang in there! I know what you're going through and I feel your pain!

I actually fell with Emily yesterday at Sesame Place. She bumped her little head and I felt SOOOOO bad. I'm not going into the whole story because I wasn't even going to tell anyone, but I completely felt responsible and so bad for my little girl because I felt like I did something to hurt her.
I had to keep reminding myself that it wasn't bad -- that she'll be OK and love me anyway. Thank goodness Ryan is OK and he won't remember it at all. And don't let your MIL of all people make you feel bad for it --- that woman seems like she'll seize any opportunity.....

I was going to post this about my Ryan but never got around to it..
Ryan was on the bed and fell off and needed stitches... 
I was crying for a day straight about it. Thankfully he is just fine and its in his hairline so if there is a scar no one will see it. He was laughing and smiling about 20 minutes afterwards while I was in the ER.
We just have to understand that this stuff does happen (as obvious by the other mommy posts) and its not our fault. THey are kids and kids get boo-boos.

Jared took a dive off the couch and bed too. It happens to all of us. Don't think for a minute that you're an unfit mother. Next time take a breath before calling your MIL...that way you won't...

Scotty fell off the bed when he was bout Ryans age...IT HAPPENS!! Don't let anyone (ESPECIALLY your MIL ) feel guilty about it!

I agree with the other mommies, it is NOT your fault. It gets harder when they start moving faster and unless you plan on spending the next couple of years hunched over chasing behind him, you're not going to be there every time to catch him if he falls.
Christopher fell down an entire flight of stairs a couple of months ago. I was sitting on the floor and my preggo butt couldn't get up fast enough to grab him. Usually when I say "no", he comes back to me, but DH was hammering downstairs on this particular day and he was too curious about the noise. I felt sick to my stomach for the next few days I was so upset. Needless to say, there wasn't a scratch on him and after crying for a couple of minutes out of shock, he was back to his normal cheerful self.
DH should've been more supportive. You were clearly upset about it and he just kicked you while you were already down and well, I've heard the stories about your MIL, so I know that's just typical for her. Sorry that you didn't get more sympathy from your family. Know that it wasn't your fault

Bottom line - he'll learn from his mistakes. This is how he learns to be careful near the edge of the bed. Both my kids have fallen off of some appartus. It was worth the bruises. They're not seriously injured & they learn to be more careful.
Joseph burned himself by touching a hot pot one day (he was about 13 months old). We said "Hot! Don't touch" for the next few years. He still says "Don't touch that - remember when I got burned" (not a chance he remembers).
Oh & your MIL is still a b!tch.

You are a great mom! Kids fall down all the time- I once baby sat for kid who liked to falll asleep on the couch. I had to put a pillow under her on the floor as instructed by the parents, in case she rolled off. Of course she rolled off the couch as I was walking to use the bathroom and the pillow slid out from under her and she hit the hard wood floor. Thankfully she was ok but the parents flipped on me that I wasn't watching her, that I didn't put down a pillow, etc. I did everything I could- I should have just moved her to the crib like I thought was best.
I think calling your MIL is probably not best in the future- she is the last person I would call for support! Definately chat on here with us instead

The important thing is that Ryan is OK. Don't let anyone make you feel worse than you already do. I'm sure DH and MIL will have their fair share of Oop's while taking care of him.

Thanks everyone- your support as always is greatly appreciated!!!!! You really do make me feel better...
Ive decided that tomorrow morning- When I drop him off there- I will be calm and not angered... let this one (like everything else) slide... BUT if she chooses to make another remark- I will just calmly say:
Well- I hope you're happy.... you have now made it so- I no longer share ANYTHING with you... Since your rude comments are unwelcomed, and you cant go w/o making them... I will no longer be sharing "extra" info with you.
I think Im more made at myself for calling her- than I am for what happened....
Days like today suck!

Don't beat yourself up. We've all had situations like this and no matter how closely we watch our little angels they are still going to get bumps and bruises.
I dropped the toy attachment from the FP Aquarium bouncer on Kevin's head when he was 5 months and I felt like banging myself in the head until I had a bump that matched his.

I did something similar...I have fouton couch next to my computer. A few momths ago I laid Hayley down and turned back to the computer...she rolled off and fell onto the floor...not a far drop but I felt like $hit afterwards. She was fine

although I know the feelnig of wanting to QUIT everything 
and we ALL get rude unwanted comments from family! I dont think anyone is perfect, we all make mistakes, it happens to all of us.
Actually my son ALMOST fell off the couch at like 3m old when she was "with him" on the couch... I remember her feelning like CRAP over it, see they make mistakes too !
