I need your opinions please....
I'm in the process of registering. I am torn between BF and bottle feeding. Still have not decided yet. I was wondering though in your experience which bottles have you had a better experience and have found that the babies have less colic and less gass.... Avent guarantees this.."The guarantee..provent to reduce gas - a claim few others can make...... And then there's Dr. Brown...the no gas guzzler---venting system reduce stress on your baby's tummy.... If you have used both...which one you prefer..... If you have only used any of them and have been happy... Would love to hear your input please! Thanks !!!

Re: I need your opinions please....
I use Dr. Brown's and am very happy. I tried Avent and didn't like them. The nipples are so hard, I find. Not as conducive to BFing and supplementing with formula, IMO.
But you should really register for 2 kinds of bottles because you never know what your baby will like. Each baby is different. You may consider instead registering for Playtex & Dr. Brown's because both claim to be better for mom's who choose to both BF and bottle feed.

I use Dr. Browns. DD likes them but there are a lot of parts to clean. But overall, I am happy.

Re: I need your opinions please....
I only used Advent with both kids. No problems at all. I bf'd, then supplemented, than when to full formula without a problem.
I've heard only the best about Dr. Brown's.

Re: I need your opinions please....
I love Dr. Brown's. I BF both my children. I found that when I pumped and put in the bottle so my husband could help with feedings that the Dr. Brown's wideneck bottle nipples did not confuse my kids. They are like a breast. As for gas problems, never had them with my kids because they used the Dr. Brown's. My friend had truble with her twins and as soon as she switch, there were no more problems.

Re: I need your opinions please....
Honestly, it is impossible to know what will work best for your child. Molly would not use any bottle (for BM) other than Playtex with the wide, silicone nipple. My neice would only use an orthopedic nipple from day 2 in the hospital for some reason. I would get a starter set of Advent and Dr. Brown/Playtex and see what works best for your baby. No bottle is really like a breast since the milk comes out so differently and at a different pace IMO.

I used both and like both for different reasons. The Dr. Brown's helped when he was spitting up alot. The Advent were so much easier to clean IMO and for some reaon fit in my diaper bag better.

Re: I need your opinions please....
I know it's impossible to predict which one will my baby like but I was wondering what was the consensus out there. I actually have both on my registry because I wasn't too sure. I will leave them both. Thanks so much for responding to all of you who had done and keep them coming please!

Re: I need your opinions please....
I have only used the dr.browns and my daughter was very fussy in the beginning. As another poster said, they are more of a pain to clean then the advents.

Re: I need your opinions please....
We started on Avent and then switched one son to Dr Brown's. Then after going to a Dr's appointment and my other son needed a test done they were unable to do it since his stomach was filled with air from the avent bottle. We switched the next day to Dr Brown's and he has barely spit up since.

We use the playtex nursers with drop ins. We tried the dr. browns and she spit up a lot from them and didn't seem to like them either but she's always been fine with the playtex.
