UPDATE: We found him!!!!! He's fine!!!! He was locked in the garage!!!!!! Thank you so much, your prayers worked!

I know how awful it is as I've been through it. Cats are really smart, give him some time he's probably hiding somewhere. Maybe leave some food out for him?

my cat went missing a few weeks ago...i was devstated...we ended up finding him the next day...leave some food out for him and also look up on the internet how to get a cat to find home! something about putting their litter box out with a shirt or something you have worn all day...
cats usually come home they know where their food is!!!
ETA: cats mostly come out at night...he/she was probably hiding in a safe spot all day...try looking outside now!

I had a similar scary situation. I was pet sitting, and their beloved cat escaped the house (he was technically allowed out, but he always delayed coming back... sometimes overnight  and that made me too nervous).
I swear he didn't come back for 3 days. It was over 90 degrees outside, and he was a longhair.... I was soooo nervous.... Nothing, no bribes, milk, food made him return.
Finally, after 3 nights of that, he finally returned  The trick that got him back was leaving the doors open whenever I was home. he just strolled through the sliding door one evening.
So don't worry.... your fuzzball is likely only exploring. Keep your home as accessible as possible, and maybe try to shake a treat container, or some other signal that usually makes him run to you, to lure him back home.....

Thanks everyone. The thing is he's 14 nd he's known as the "neighborhood" cat. He always wanders and roams but comes home every single night. I just doubt he is lost. I just wish I knew what happened. I am beginning to lose hope. But thank you for the prayers and stories, maybe he will come back in 3 days like that woman's.
