I need some creative ideas ladies!

I am beyond PMS today - I suspect AF will rear her ugly head tomorrow, which I'm excited for because it means on to the next cycle.

BUT, and that's a very biiiiiig but ...

The problem being that my wonderful (yes, amazingly enough, I adore her) MIL is flying in from Israel in about 10 days to visit with us for almost 3 weeks.

Meaning, when DH and I have to do the insemination, she'll be around, which will hinder his performance, I'm 100% positive.

I talked to him about it last night and suggested for those days he just comes with me to the appointment and use the "room" at the RE's office, which he flat out refused (we're dealing with a major germaphobe here ladies).

I don't want to pass up YET another cycle, so what the heck do I do?

I thought about getting her to somehow tag along with me while I drop off DD at school, which is what I usually do to give Dh some time to do his thing, and then return, do the pass off and head to the appointment. Problem being, the appointment is usually very early - 8:30am, and while my MIL is an early riser, she stays in her PJ's for a good 2 hours.

I need some creative ideas/excuses so we don't have to waste another month!

I feel for you.... I've often talked about "that" room!

Can you assign her a task like cook a big breakfast and then DH could know she was occupied.

Do you have a dog that needs to walked?

Could you maybe invite her with you to drop off your daughter and then take her out for breakfast so your Dh doesn't feel rushed?
I'm no help here--- last time we had to have an IUI done DH and I stayed at a hotel the night before b/c it was snowing so badly and we're an hour from our dr w/o bad weather... Besides the fact that DH won't use 'the room' either- he refuses to do 'that' so we still do things the old fashioned way, using a condom from the andrologist... and I'm definitely not doing 'that' in 'the room' LOL!
The funny thing is, now DH keeps joking w/ me that we can 'make our own waffles" before the IUI- because we did last time...they had a complimentary breakfast in the lobby It was definitely less stress on him knowing we were like 5 mins away and we didn't have to rush that much...
Back to your question- could you maybe tell your MIL the night before that you want to run some errands in the morning and could use some help but DH is busy... so would she mind helping you--- then make up a grocery list or something w/ like 6 items on it and give her a couple to look for while you're getting the rest.... so you're out somewhat quickly...

Tell DH to hang out in the bedroom a little longer than usual that morning so he can take care of business while you distract your MIL in a different part of the house. My DH usually uses a movie or something on the internet for inspiration if I am not around. HTH!

Beth - Is it possible for him to make his "contribution" before her arrival and have it frozen at the lab? My last IUI, we knew my husband would be away on business, so the week before he gave them a sample for them to freeze so we wouldn't miss the month.
