Ok so we are doing DS's Christmas pics ourselves and I need some ideas on how to do it.
Any creative but simple ideas?

White sheet or black ......Prop Him on that for a plain background.
Fireplace? That is always a nice shot in front of one.

I do not have a fireplace. We live in a small apartment...

We are putting up a tree but it's a very small one because a pain in the butt cat + a curious toddler = a disaster if a big tree was put up. Please the cat has knocked down this small tree that we have. I plan on putting up the tree on Friday but still it's small and I have to put it on a small table in order for it to be displayed.
This weekend we are planning on taking DS to see Santa and since DH's sister lives close by we are stopping by her house. She always puts up a nice christmas tree. If she does her christmas decorations this month then I can do the pics at her house. I know she wouldn't mind and she puts out really cute decorations...
But I still need a plan B. DH said to make the santa pic the card that we send out but we did that last year and now that DS is older I don't even know what his reaction to santa will be. We were at a party this saturday and he cried when Elmo picked him up...

Maybe scroll the pages on the Parenting board for some of the holiday cards that people have done already to get some ideas from what others have done.

When you take him to see santa, try to snap some shots in that vicinity. Ive gotten some great ones the past few years , but never one pic with ALL THREE Of them that Id be able to send out. but usually the malls are decorating beautifully right by the santa area. kwim ?
and have DH hold your bags, etc. you have camera ready, and have something new and cool ready to show the baby, NOT something to hold because he will too be busy looking at it to look up for the photo.
OR just some shots at home. if you do a close up, it doesnt matter what the background is. but I personally dont care for the white sheets at all.

I was thinking of that and we are planning on going to Atlas Mall. They have christmas decorations but they are huge. Like they have the huge teddy bear and huge christmas ornaments so it really wouldn't show if I did a close up and to take it far away won't help either...

Re: Ladies Please Help...I need some ideas
You could do a simple Santa hat on him and wrap up a big box and have him in front of it. I used my DD's white wainscotting wall & wrapped her in Christmas lights.

Re: Ladies Please Help...I need some ideas
A simple backdrop (and a way to get your present wrapping done early... ) is to wrap some presents, and stack them behind DC.
An even easier backdrop is to just hang some wrapping paper behind DC.
