Today is my last day with Alex... I start work on Monday and couldn't be more depressed. I have to stop by her daycare today and drop off her stuff and set up her crib and I'm so scared I'm going to lose it while I'm there!
Thanks girls... I stopped at her daycare and I feel a lot better. I forgot how warm and friendly the atmosphere is. They had everything set up for her with her name labelled on everything and a big welcome poster with her name and picture. She was fascinated by all the other babies and was so relaxed that she fell asleep in my arms as I talked to one of the caretakers... I'm still depressed, but I'm a little more comforted knowing she's in such good hands
The first day will be so difficult for you but you know what? Not so bad for Alex. It will get easier on you. Don't feel guilty - you're doing what you know is best for both of you.
