I need advice.. DD (first time) and dh got stomach flu ..

Last night my DD started vomiting all over and then 2 hours later dh. My place reaks of vomit.. (sorry if tmi).. what can I do to get the smell out of rug? Im going to air out the place once dd is up and I get her into my fathers part of house... if shes not still sick. Now im trying to get all her toys, sheets, cloths, pacis boiled and then steam cleaning bathroom b/c of dh...

Also another problem is my dd doesnt drink anything but water/milk.. almost took her to ER last night b/c of fear of dehydration but she fell asleep and didnt want to wake her. I may take her still depending on how she wakes up. I raced out and got baby food bannanas, apples, cereal rice and pedialite drinks and also their ice pops. She refused the pedilite last night... It was horrible.. DD is only 16.5 months old.. and she couldnt understand what was going on.. she was dryheaving and bringing up bile.. and then crying into my arms.. I felt horrible. I wish i could have traded places. Only good thing that happened last night was baby #2 didnt decide it was time to go into labor.. im due on the 15th.

sorry soooo long.. im a messs and no sleep.. just need advice on what I can do for dd and the smell.. Thanks!

you poor thing. i would say if she takes only water than give it to her in small amounts. if she isnt making tears or having wet diapers i would call your ped right away.
i am not sure what to do with the rug but for the bathroom that only thing that wil kill this virus is bleach, but being pregnant you really shouldnt inhale it.
we went through this virus it was not fun

I am sorry you have to deal with all this now .

For the vomit I would try diluted detergent or J&J body soap (a mom in DS's class told me she uses that to clean up potty training accidents and it got everything out). I would just try and give her water and pedilite. Maybe try the Pedilite individual bottles and give that, make it seem like it is really cool to have and a special drink. I also noticed that my kids liked the cherry flavor and it needed to be cold. I tried it at room temp and it is salty. I hope they feel better soon!!
