I know... probably too soon to ask but...

what is the time frame for TTC again? Is it 6 weeks they tell you to wait before DTD again? Should protection of some sort be used? can you do any kind of damage to your body if you get preggo again too fast?

Trust me, I feel so blessed to be pregnant right now and DH and I know how long it took for this one to happen. We talked the other night about not wanting to wait. We wont be actively trying but not being safe about it either. Opinions???

Both of my OBs told me they didn't want to see me again for 18 months.

I think it will depend on if you have a csection of a vaginal birth. I had a section and my doctors recommended I wait 18 months.

I have been wondering the same thing. It took us 2 rounds of IVF to conceive and 2 1/2 long years. I just couldn't imagine using birth control again...unless it was part of a cycle. I was thinking of giving my RE a call b/c I have a feeling his response will be very different than my OB. I know my first RE said that after 3 months it would be OK to begin treatment. Not that I think we will be ready in 3 months, but I assume if they say you can start meds again in 3 months than you can certainly start TTC naturally.

I had an emergency c-section and complications (pre-eclampsia). I was told to wait 2 years.

When I went to my annual a year after having DS, I asked about TTC again, and she said it would be fine. So my two will be just over 2 years apart.

We didn't use any protection since having DD. I had two vaginal deliveries though. We actively started trying when she was 8 months old and I got pregnant right away so they will be 17 months apart. The OB didn't care.

DO not use breast feeding or any other natural method as BC unless you are ready to have another one right away.

Once the Dr give the all clear to DTD then you should be ok. Also dont assume because it took a long time to conceive #1 that #2 wil be difficult too. I have heard a ton of stories where couples thought that and bam they were PG.

I am no longer allowed to be on BCP of any kind or anything with hormones because of clotting issues so DH and I will start relatively soon after (6mons or so) but it will more just depend on how we are adjusting to the first one.

I had a vaginal delivery and OB didn't give me any time frame to wait. I got pg first time trying when DD was about 15 months old.

My sis had a c-section and same ob told her to wait 12 months. She got pg again exactly when her DD turned 1!

Hat does DTD mean?

It really depends on your body but IMHO you should give your body a full year to recoup

I found out I have a heart condition recently and the heart dr told me a pregnant person's heart has to work 4x as hard from day one until you deliver. she said this is one major reason you should take a year off from being pregnant in between kids because it really is a strain on your body, and one baby after another isn't the best idea. will you die? no. is it hard on your organs and body- sure. Hence why I believe 12 months is a good time frame.

I had a vaginal delivery with no issues, but I pushed for two hours and tore pretty bad. I wasn't even able to DTD till at least 12 weeks PP it hurt so bad. I didn't feel 100% back to my old self till at least 8 months PP. I also didn't get AF back till 7 months PP since I was BF. You have to give your body sometime to get back to normal. My cousin got PG with her third 3 months PP, and everything was fine. You really have to wait and see how your labor goes and how you are feeling.

I know with a C-section I think they tell you a year.

I had a csection and my ob said minimum of 3 months. I had no complications after my csec. I got pg when dd was 8 months but that pg ended in mc, and now I am pg again and dd will be 21 months when this dc is born.

12-18 months to allow your body to recover. Besides your organs recovering, you need to build back up your uteris and nutrients for the baby.

It took me over 2 years and lots of $$ to conceive DS.

I never went on BC. BF for 4 months PP. Got my period at about 6 months PP & got preggo again at 8 months PP.

I did deliver vaginally.

I'm pretty sure I was told no for about 2 months. Def no baths for 6 weeks.
