i know ppl stay stupid things....
but last night i had a family party and some people scrambled my egg about my body.
i have been feeling great and havent really put much thought into my weight gain. well a cousin asks how much weigh ive gained? (1st question right out of the gate) so i truthfully told her i really didnt know and havent really been tracking. well she went on and on about how i need to care cause i could end up with a HUGE baby and than have delivery problems and blah blah blah. truth be told - my fist really wanted to knock her in the mouth as she spoke but i just smiled and tried to shrug it off.
than....much later in the party my sil says - omg youre so big now! how far along are you now? so i tell her 6 months ~ her response ~ wow your baby is going to be big your belly is huge!
am i huge? what does everyone else look like @ 24 weeks? does my size relate to the babys size? it is a problem to have a big baby?
ive posted a pic from my 22 weeks ~ i dont have an updated one. i dont think i grew much larger than 2 weeks ago. i also put a pic from a trip i took @ 20 weeks.
what do you think? am i too big? do i need to talk to my doc about a possible diet? Image Attachment(s):

That is insane. You look great and I would think that you are carrying small, not big at all.
You should let everyone know that your doctor weighs you at every appointment and knows what you are gaining and they are not concerned. Also, your doctor can estimate the baby's weight and is not concerned about that either.
Try not to listen to anyone, I am REALLY shocked that anyone would think that you are big!

Your family is insane. You aren't big, and if your doctor had concerns about it, they would tell you. These people who are trying to "help" are not in your body and are not your baby -- nature takes care of us, and you are not being irresponsible at all as far as your eating goes! You certainly do not need to be tracking every piece of food going into your mouth to carry a healthy, wonderful baby.
Next time anyone says anything to you like that, look them straight in the eye and tell them that your doctors say you are just perfect and that they shouldn't concern themselves about it.

If they keep this up for the duration you should totally LIE and tell them some INSANE amount of weight you've gained a la "Gee so far it's 75 lbs and I still have 6 weeks left!"

You are by no stretch of the imagination "HUGE".
People need to start worrying about themselves a little more than how much weight we gain diring pregnancy. You are doing fine!!!! I think you look GREAT!!! If your DR had an issue with how much weight you've put on or about the size of your baby....they would say something....I promise.

ok thanks ~ i cant believe how insecure their comments made me. im so surprised @ myself!
my dh said ppl in my family probably think i look big because i was always so skinny. so it must be awkward for them to see me walking around w/ any kind of belly.
i now really believe what ppl say about pregnancy hormones ~ cause those 2 comments kept playing thru my head like a broken record for most of the night.
im just going to continue to eat what i want (which i keep a pretty good diet) and you are all right ~ if my doc thought my weight was a problem he will tell me.
thanks for the advice & the emotional boost!

Huge? You? Never. Not even while you are pregnant.
I think DH IS right though-your fam is used to you being skinny always, so for them to see you with a belly, is strange.
I'm sorry, but I think you are carrying small, if anything!!!!!!!

ITA you don't look out of the ordinary at all! in fact, I think the rest of your body looks like it probably did before the baby! Don't mind them, ppl think they know everything about pregnancy when they really don't...

Goodness, your cousin and sil should be gagged!!!! lololol You really don't look big at all! I was MUCH bigger than you at that point in my last pg actually I would say I'm probably about the same as you now at 19 weeks. So if you're big, I'm a whale!!!  I gained 50 lbs in all last time I was a few lbs shy of 200!!!!!!!   My baby was 8.11oz. Which is a nice healthy baby!
Don't listen to these people for a minute, they sound like real winners! lol
You look wonderful and you should be proud.

I get those comments all the time too and it really pisses me off.
Regarding the "big baby" comment - my belly is HUGE and I was just told last week that my baby is small and I neeed to take it easy so that the baby can catch up! There is no connection with belly size and baby size.

and NO, your weight gain doesn't mean a damn thing re: how big the baby is -
I gained 25 lbs - and I had a 9.2 lb baby - The doctors swore he was going to be 7ish lbs - I was 'average' for everything .........
Nope, big kid in there !!! Everyone in the OR was  when he was born.

OMG you are so tiny. I'm a week ahead of you & feel alot bigger than you.
I have this one co-worker who likes to tell me every other day "wow you're going to have a big baby"
Your Dr will let you know when you are gaining to much weight - if that is in fact the case.
Judging from these pics - I'd say you are FAR from needing to watch what you eat.
