I just got home after we had a showing here...
And the toilet seat is fully up in our hall bathroom!! We ALWAYS keep the lids closed, besides DH isn't here this weekend...
Don't get me wrong-- I know what it's like to be out all day looking at houses and not having anywhere to pee... and in an emergecy, will go in a house we are looking at-- but I try to leave it the way it was when I got there! 
We have an accepted offer, but I am continuing to show... I think I might have to rethink that.

When we were house hunting I opened the lid of the toilets in the houses we looked at.
Maybe that is why it was in the up position?

Can I ask why you would do that? I would never touch someone's bowl if I could avoid it.

You have to keep showing til you're in contract. Trust me, I had an accepted offer and it took forever to get in contract because it was a co-op and I wasted a month and a half NOT showing and my buyer backed out the night before he was supposed to sign.
Do yourself a favor and show til you have the signatures!

not sure bout germany, but if it's anything like those french toilets with just a hole in the ground...good god!
mama needs a seat for her business!! and this is why i'd never hack it in france

Just want to make sure it wasn't us. We went to a bunch of open houses this weekend and I can't tell you how many times I had to STOP DH from using the bathroom!

I looked at the toiliets in houses I went to look at - I don't think its a weird thing to do...
