Showing your home is soooo hard!

I can't believe how exhausting and hard it is to keep up and show your house. I've only showed it 4 times and already I've had enough. If I could afford to, I'd give the house away. It is so hard to keep it "show" clean every single day. It's impossible. Between the dogs and kids, my husband, company, etc. I'm so sick and tired of cleaning. Don't get me wrong, I love how clean and great the house looks, but getting it there stresses me out like you wouldn't believe. I clean it, the kids make a mess, the dogs get dirt and mud all over the floor, dog hair everywhere. I have to clean like I've never cleaned before. Then it's so much fun when it's time to leave the house, to do the finishing touches, pack up the kids and get the dogs into the car as well. OMG... so much work! Then we have to disappear for at least an hour. I can't wait to sell it so I can be done with all of this.

OMG I can relate...well not on the same level b/c we have no children or dogs, and ours is just a co-op...but we showed it just twice this weekend and it is very stessful keeping it emaculate!! I love how it looks so organized and clean but I feel like I don't even want to dirty a dish!
I hope the process goes quickly for both of us!!

I understand. I was completely psychotic while we were on the market. It's no fun at all!

I hear ya! When we decided to take our house off the market, I was SO relieved not to have to keep up with the cleaning! It was getting next to impossible. I hope you sell quickly so you don't have to deal with it anymore!

I feel your pain. We had an open house yesterday, well open co-op technically, and I wanted to strangle myself or someone else by the time it was over.

i am in the same boat... for nine months now! and my husband get's so peeved when they call and ask to show the house within the hour! but i have to calm him down and say "you never know, this could be the one!"

I have two kids and we just drive down the block and i put on their dvd player in the van and we watch a movie until they leave.

this allows me to see how long they have been in the house too.
