I think it's easy to sit and judge. I think that if this person had kids, those kids would be whining and playing x-box.

This person needs to get over themselves and realize that there are kids in the world. Some are devils and some are angels.

Angry much? I agree with a few points but a lot of it I don't. Suffice to say, I think the first sentence pretty much sums it up - "I don't have kids." As my mother always so wisely says - it's easy to raise someone else's kids. It's simple to log onto the Craigslist rant and rave page and rant about children and their parent's who don't teach them right, don't control them, give them everything, etc. etc. It's easy to do that when your sitting on your butt in a chair at your computer and lay blame. You don't even need any first hand experience to do that.

But hey, that's what rants and raves is for, right?

ETA: I also want to say that this person is clearly targeting mothers since many references are made towards the mother and not the father. I did laugh a few times bc, although filled with anger, the comments were on the mark, like the shorts with suggestive words on the butt. You can't help but look at someone's a** when they have those shorts or pants on.

As a parent I do have my limitations when it comes to what my kids are given or allowed, it's not as cut and dried as that.

Vulgar, yes. But do some mothers/fathers need a wake up call to understand that a lot of these behaviors are not okay? YES.

And i'm sorry, but i don't think you NEED to be a parent to understand right and wrong behavior. JMHO.

When someone uses so much profanity to try to make a point I turn off. If the point is so valid, then one wouldn't need the crutch of vulgar language to try and make their point. As much as she is trying to send a message about some people being irresponsible parents, she has made the point that she is just a very judgmental by-stander. Little girl....please...walk a day in one of our shoes and let's hear you flap your gums after that!

I agree that many kids are spoiled. I do not intend to ever let my son eat dinner with his playstation.

On the other hand she or he is NOT a parent- and I whole heartedly believe that if you are NOT a parent then keep your mouth shut about discipline because you have NO idea how hard it is.

It is completely beyond me to keep Matty from throwing tantrums now- he is only 11 months old now. But I am sure there are people starting at us in stores. I do give into him to keep him from crying often- but he is still a baby. I hope I can give him firm and loving discipline as he gets older- that is my intention. But I know now to never judge a parent unless they are deliberately harming their child. Parenting is the hardest job in the world, and if you don't have kids you won't understand that. Who the heck is this person to judge a parent who has a kid whining for a toy in a store?

I agree to an extent. Definitely not with all the rantings and the vulgar way she presented her argument, but with the point about kids not accepting no for an answer. I've been teaching for almost 10 years and as the classes go through, more and more kids have zero respect for their teachers and don't respect rules. I don't plan on being strict with my DD, but I do plan to teach her to respect her elders and that no means no.

lol... this email reminds me of the time my 2 year old dd was on an airplane seated between my dh and I, descending into Kennedy airport. I'll never forget the trip- The poor things' ears must have been killing her, she was screaming and so upset. The TSA rules denied us from bringing her soy milk (she's allergic to regular) on board to soothe her... DH and I were frazzled and so upset and I was tearing up and we were despertely trying to get her to calm down. Then, I remember one lady two rows behind me mutter about us "Jesus Christ" and complain to the lady next to her.

That was all I needed to hear. Crying, I stood up, turned around, and yelled "Have some f-ing compassion." Then I said "I'm sorry- I'll throw her off!" (And let me tell you- I am the least confrontational person)...

The girl didn't say anything, but I realized then- some people get it and some just don't.

working with kids, I have to agree with every point. not the way it was addressed but the point.
I am amazed how a lot of parents dont discipline and how fresh and rude they allow their children to be- especially at the doctors/dentist.

just the other day this 8 year old was a total brat, the mom did absolutely nothing so the dentist comes in and says stop giving ( me) a hard time or we will have to cut your hair off ( he had long hair) he turns around and says no you wont or I will sue you - where does an 8 year old come out with that?

I agree with all of it, except for the gay couple part. And I do think it was very harsh but that doesn't really bother me. I do feel that A LOT of kids are out of control. And I do think that playing Playstation at dinner is unacceptable. I also agree that a 4 year old should not being playing X-box on a regular basis. I have no problem with the occasional video game but I think 4 year olds having their own gaming system is out of control.

My biggest problem with the message is that it was directed at mothers as if fathers are not at fault in a lot of the issues also. I see fathers just sit back quietly while the kids go running all around. I see fathers push the video games on the kids because they want to play the games themselves. Both parents are raising the kid(s) and whether they are doing a good job or a bad job they are both responsible.
