I feel sooooo bad for my DS
Tuesday is my son's 5th birthday. Since there isn't any school next week (and he doesn't have school on Fridays-Pre-K), we asked the teacher if we could celebrate his birthday in school today.
We spent HOURS yesterday making and decorating cupcakes. My son was so excited because he was going to be class leader for the day, and he kept waking up all night to ask if it was time for school yet.
Well, cut to this morning. I checked the school's website....SCHOOL WAS CLOSED due to the icy conditions. 
My son was trying to put on a happy face, but went into his room to cry quietly.  My heart broke for him.
He has his big party on SAturday at a children's party place, but he was really looking forward to today.
And the kicker is...school is closed ALL next week, so his class party will have to wait for a week and a half!
But even after his heart broke a little, do you know what he said to me? He said, "Mom, I feel bad because you worked so hard on my cupcakes and favors."
Please pray for good weather for Saturday (for his party) Poor kid.

Awwww!! praying for great weather Sat and a great party! My birthday is in Aug so I never got to do school cupcakes....I know it's a big deal! Poor lil guy

OMG! This post literally brought tears to my eyes!!! Your boy sounds so sweet - he was probably more upset because he felt bad for YOU!!! AWE!!!

Poor thing! Maybe you can have a little "party" at home for him today. You can order pizza, have some of those cupcakes, play games and maybe even have him open one of his gifts. Or maybe you can set up a last minute play date with one of his school friends. Wish him a happy birthday from all of us!

Thanks everybody! He really is such a sweet little boy. When he called his grandma (my mother), he said he "felt bad for Mommy cause she worked so hard on my cupcakes."
When he handed the phone back to me, my mother was crying! What a morning!!!
So now the little guy is going in for a nap, and my birthday boy and I are going to play some games and eat lots of cupcakes!!
