i don't see it, so i'll ask: christmas cookies, what's on your list 2011 edition

i REALLY want to make different cookies/candies than i did last year, so i'm looking for ideas

last year, i made:
* peppermint bark
* red velvet cookies
* brownie cookies
* moose poop (this is what the kids called oreo truffles. the name is a new family tradition)
* pumpkin chocolate chip cookies
* peanut butter fudge

this year, my list is:
* moose poop
* raspberry cream cheese cookies (it's a jam thumbprint cookie)
* almost icebox rounds
* rainbow cookies

i'd like to add two more.
what are you making, this year?

Lollipop stick with three big marshmallows dipped in white chocolate and decorated with m&m's! Pretty easy, a little messy with the chocolate but so tasty and total sugar overload! Chat Icon

I am making all of mine this weekend and packing them up as best I can and freezing them except for the strufoli. I have actually never frozen my cookies but I am going to give it a try instead of running around like a maniac the week I make my platters!

Oh my God. Sounds amazing, but dipping the marshmallows might be too labor intensive for me. I may give it a shot...

So far I am making my usual:

Chocolate Chip

Oatmeal Pecan
White Oreo Truffles
Homemade chocolates

Nothing too fancy but they come out awesome!

I want to try one new recipe this year. I havent decided what yet.

Need some ideas.

I have a question!

Where do you ladies go to get "rare" baking items.

For instance, those Mint Chocolate chip cookies require mint extract and creme de menthe baking chips. Doesn't seem like stuff Stop and Shop would have. Is there a certain place that has the random ingredients?

This happened to me last year too when I needed peppermint extract!

I get my peppermint extract at Stop and Shop! Did you check for those ingredients?

I bet whole foods would have them!

There is no whole foods anywhere near me...I'd have to go to Manhasset.

You could probably get anything you need from a place like the Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale. They have everything
