I don't know if I'm shocked...or getting "older"
Tara (Mrs.Beans) saw the email....
What's your take?
I'm a recruiter, and have been dealing with a candidate. Emails are frequent (me sending him jobs, him responding) and casual. Note: all our correspondence has been via email.
He calls me a few minutes ago to discuss his background in more detail. Turns out we went to the same school for Undergrad and have a few people in common (we've never crossed paths though.) Convo gets a little more casual, he says "what are you doing tonight?"
I respond - "not much, taking it easy, have an early day tomorrow."
I then get an email from him saying "How about drinks tonight?"
My response: "What time and where...I'll bring my husband....at least I'm honest!"
and turned the email back to a professional manner....

Now...I'm shocked...more so b/c I don't remember men being this "ballzy/direct".....
Am I getting old?

I don't think that is too direct at all. You had the undergrad connection and he wanted to meet/see if there was something there...
I probably would have just said thanks for the offer, but my husband and I are just catching a movie.." or something like that.
Will you really go with your DH if he suggests a time and place?

Maybe I am missing something, but I do not see this as a "come on". More of the, old friends getting together sort of thing. Am I naive?

As a recruiter myself I wonder if he was just trying to network with you. I've been approached like that before and as long as you put it out there that you're married - so they don't have weird alterior motives, it could just be plain old networking.
