I can't find a mercury free flu shot anywhere!!
Does anyone have any idea of where I can get one?

I spent forever calling around all over and could not find it anywhere either.
I actually just came back from the doctor about 20 minutes ago and got the regular flu shot. I was reassured by my OB and my primary care physician that the regular one is safe.
And I plan on getting the H1N1 vaccine when it becomes available as well.

Same here! Then I decided I would just get the regular flu shot and Duane Reade refused to give to me because I was pregnant  My general physician is supposed to be getting them in soon, so I will get one from her.

I was told the same thing by Walgreens. They said I would need to bring a letter from my OB office saying that it was OK to get it.
I ended up just going to my PCP this morning to get the shot. He didn't need any letter!

they seem to be all out everywhere b/c they don't make as many so they are all gone.
My OB said the one with it is fine b/c there is as much mercury in one shot as there is in 1 tuna fish sandwich...I got the one with it this week.

The regular flu shot has mercury in it that's why they probably dont want ot be laible in case something goes wrong with your baby. They tell PG people not to eat high mercury containing fish but to get a regular flu shot is ok? 
I wont never take that chance! I would only get the mercury free shot.

I called my GP and he wasnt comfortable giving me the flu shot with preservatives. So I called my OB and he suggested going to a pediatrician. He actually recommended my childhood pediatrician. I'm going next Saturday. You can try them.

I asked my OB today, and she actually said studies have been done and the regular flu shot is fine. She said the amount of mercury in the shot isn't that high to begin with so it is fine. I was going to call around about the mercury free one anyway, but seems like it may not be worth the effort. I get the flu shot for free at work every year. I will probably just get it this year as well. It's dangerous for pregnant women to get the flu.

I got mine at a pharmacy in a supermarket, but I live in VA. So it was a Safeway which I don't think they have in NY.

That's exactly what my ob-gyn said which is why I am fine with getting a flu shot with mercury in it.

I finally called the one that gave it to me (had to drive to rockland county-which is not where i live) and the pharmacist had two vials of it left. One was promised to a women coming all the way from brooklyn (1.5 hours away-the women was willing to drive to it) but she told me told me to hurry over and she would save the 2nd one for me. She said that a lot of the CVS and walgreens have run out of the mercury free one and are NOT ordering it again. The women from brooklyn got there the same time as me and she said she came all the way down b/c she couldnt find it anywhere in brooklyn, queens, manahatten, etc. Her OB also told her not to get the regular one. They keep saying how impt it is for pregnant women to have the flu shot yet they dont have enough of the mercury free ones for us...go figure

i got the regular shot. Not worried at all. i don't eat any seafood, but if i did i would have had more mercury in my system eating tuna than from the shot. so my trace amount of mercury from the shot is probably significantly less than anyone who has had tuna fish--which again is not a problem as long as it's in moderation

That is not true. Walgreens and any other place like that (CVS, etc) will give the regular shot to pregnant women, you just have to bring a letter from your OB stating that they are OK with you getting it.

I am just reporting what the pharmacist told me when I went...she never mentioned a letter just said that they wont give the mercury free one to pregnant women. I guess check with whatever pharmacy a person decides to go with

I got mine at Walgreens. When I went the pharmacist told me it was $5 more for me because I'm pregnant and have to get the shot with no preservatives

My dr gave me 2 doses of the pediatric version (it is half the dose of the adult version, so I had to get 2 shots, one in each arm). No mercury/preservatives.
